Northern ireland education was not divided into catholic and protestant schools. The UK government provided state schools for all but the catholic church in ireland insisted catholics went to independent catholic schools. It was not a social "experiment" but it is a good example of how religion poisons everything.
AC Grayling is, for me, one of the clearest and best speakers that I know. His ability to convey what he wants to say with a humour and passion that underlies the seriousness of his subject is what makes him such a good speaker.
He puts my fears about the Academies Bill into words. I am appalled that the Bill went through with little in the way of change and that the BHA's points were summarily dismissed. It does not augur well for the future of education in this country.
Local shopping malls have a number of vacant positions as an Easter Bunny.
Good working conditions. Double pay on Saturday/Sunday. Costumes provided.
Prerequisites:
-Good fable-telling skills
-Basic acting skills
-Clearance from the local child protection authorities.
Also on offer are numerous working positions as a Santa Claus for the 2010 Christmas Season. Costumes and fake beards provided (only male applicants may apply).
apart from the audio problem which i managed to fix somehow its a great talk :)
definitively worth watching. education is important, because humans are born blind, deaf, and stupid. the other two things go away automatically with time, but the stupidity can stay for a lifetime unless you do something about it.
there is an audio problem with this video, which will make it difficult for anyone using headphones. the audio on the left side is broken, you only get sound on the right side. now how am i supposed to watch this without either waking up family members because its late at night, or without getting headaches because the sound is only on the right ear?
by the way, changing the balance doesnt work if the audio on one side is completely broken. that only fixes it when one side is louder.

This is great, I want more children to do this, be honest and use critical thinking from an early age.
