I'm really happy to hear that you are not a concealer fan! I have been struggling with concealer for a long time, and find that it often makes the situation worse (probably a testament to my skill and not the concealer itself) but it's nice to hear someone say it's not a must!
hello please help me with my dry skin problems. i got sun burned two years ago on my face and til today i still get super dry skin on my nose and my nose only it has a massive dry patch, its to a point that everytime the seasons change my nose skin will actually start peel ... i really want to fix it but everytime i moisturize my nose the skin peels, if i dont use it peels more.
@murenhe You must continue to moisturize! Try using a pure aloe from Whole Foods and if all else fails, visit a dermatologist. If you were severely burned, you need to be careful!
raeview i was thinking of getting the same pair of lenses as u! I was just wondering how's the enlargement effect? and would u recommend them? Thanks ! ^^
Would you recommend the horizon blush for ones who tend to prefer matte blushes? Also, would you say it's worth splurging for a student on a budget? The color looks so lovely (maybe an everyday blush?) but I can't seem to justify the price. Your opinion is greatly appreciated, thanks Rae! :)
Hey Rae, i was just wondering what make and colour your contacts are? they are quite natural looking. Also did you also say that you had eyelid surgery before?
@aznballer04 I haven't decided if it's worth it. I'm so busy trying to cover all these Spring collections, and Temptalia already reviewed most of the products on her blog, so I'd recommend you check those out if you're interested in ordering!
Really love Chanel, this is perfect love the blush colour :) so natural.. Would love to know where you get you're lashes from? The false ones as a have small eyes and find it hard to find nice ones to pop my eyes and make them better without turns of mascara! -3
@ChloeNettletonx I think the ones I used in the tutorial have been discontinued but you can find very similar styles from the Korean lash brand called Darkness!
I am from Asia and would to know what is the best product to reduce scar from face? And what will be the best foundation to use in hot weather for oily skin?
@Annie0109 A prescription product from a dermatologist would be your best bet to reduce significant scarring. Shiseido's Sun Protection Liquid Foundation is the best for oily skin in hot weather. Finish with the same line's powder foundation for all day wear and coverage!
i do love how you added little anecdotal comments during your tutorial :) makes it very entertaining to watch instead of mere application! not saying you need to do it every tutorial however, haha, just thought i should let you know i enjoyed your commentary!
Saw the Horizon blush and Flirt lipstick as I was walking past the Chanel counter the other day and instantly fell in love with the colors. I was waiting for your inevitable review to decide whether or not they would be worth the purchase and it looks like they are! Thanks for this video. :) Wonderful tutorial, as always.
my birthday is also in april and the nail polish / makeup product is nice....u have such good review...love it.....i would love to get my hand on it...but due to my budget i ll skip it.... by the way u r so beautiful ...!!!!
Do you check on the ingredients before purchasing a product?
Cuz i noticed that a lot of cosmetics contains Parabens, fragrances, glycol etc in the ingredients......just curious on what's your take on them in the daily cosmetics used?
I fell in love when you showed Chanel "April"....then I was slighty heartbroken when you said it takes 3 coats. Does it peel easily when 3 coats are applied? I seem to have bad luck when having to apply more than 2 coats of a polish. Thank you!! <3
Hey Rea, really nice review, but I do have a question regarding the linging of the eye with the brown pencil liner. if u create such a thick line, doesnt it ever rup of on ur upper crease line? Because thats what happens to me and i can hardly wear anything but liquid eyeliner... Is there a trick or do I have really mean eyelids?
Great review Rae. I have a question, you probably get this all the time but you always apply your liners so perfectly whether it's pencil or liquid and you don't blink get it uneven or anything, does this come with time and practice or is there something I may be doing wrong. Thanks x
Rae you are so gorgeous and I love your informative reviews! Hows the coverage for the Chanel foundation that you use in this tutorial? Thanks. You're one of my favorites to watch <3
I just tried your tip re. dark liner followed by coloured shadow on top to intensify! It REALLY works! Great tip Rae - thanks so much. ^_^ I'm very happy because I have olive/tan skin, so I can finally add a bit of colour to my eyes without it appearing muddy or dull. Woohoo!
Hi Rae!<3 I used the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation that you recommended to me a month ago. It truly does provide wonderful coverage and my skin looks flawless. I love the finish and it makes my skin feel soft, but it seems to motivated itchiness after 4 hours of wear. Would the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua be worth the purchase? Do you think it is suitable for my eczyma skin?
@SrawberryFizz I'm sorry to hear that! Have you tried using a primer underneath? Chanel's VA is a lot more sheer and the color range is similar so it's up to you! I prefer SC to VA, more versatile coverage :)
@SrawberryFizz Chanel VA provides a sheer to medium coverage, and of course, you can build it up to a full coverage by layering. One down side of this foundation though it doesn't look natural. I have to mix it with some Missha BB cream to get that skin like texture. Another down side is VA tends to slip and slide after 4 hrs+. You will need either a really good setting powder or keep blot very often.
I have to admit that other than the June nail polish, I was not impressed with the Chanel 2012 Spring collection. I am anticipating the Summer 2012 collection a little more since the SA at the Chanel counter I know very well, showed me a preview of that one. There are a couple of lip colors and a Bronze colored nail polish that are a MUST for me.
I've heard another beauty guru talking about returning beauty products... I didn't even know you can do that? What stores accept returns? Sephora? What about drugstores? Thanks :)
@manaynay Almost all department stores and drugstores accept returns or exchanges, but they usually require a receipt or some other proof of purchase! Check the return policies on your receipts.
@RAEview even a product thats had been used yet? I mean once tried? In Germany that would be impossible. they would laugh at you trying to exchange a "used" produtct! it would seem totally rude and stupid.. unfortunatly!!
The pink is the one nail color I didnt buy now I'm thinking I should get it... AND I did not get the blush thinking it was shimmery -I didn't swatch it! Oh well... I'll think about it... Just when I thought I would not buy any more makeup!!
DAT BLUSH. I've seen photos from various places and I'm like *grabby hands* but I know I can't justify spending so much money on a blush I'd be afraid to use because it looks so nice unused.
Hi Rae, I saw your previous video about Lancome Genefique and Visionnaire..what would you say is the difference in them? Is one more preventative than the other?
@mzcarolyn Visionnaire is not preventative at all! It's a treatment :) They are two completely different serums. Go for Genifique if you have aging concerns!
have you tried smashbox's BB cream? i love bb creams but feel like my asian brand ones make me look TOO white (obv thats the purchase) but i just love bb creams textures &stuff.
hmm im not in love with the palette at all. the purple is the only thing that attracts me..although it looks similar to other dark purples from other brands
Rae, are you still using the Benefit Skincare ? I've been thinking about picking up a few of their products, just wondering if you would still recommend them for combo-oily skin ?
Rae, I love this look on you! Especially with the liner! I've always had trouble putting on line because my lids are different sizes but do you have any advice to doing so? Thanks again!
Hi Rae, would you recommend the Lancome pressed powder for dry skin? I currently use a Chanel loose powder but have been looking for a pressed powder to carry around during the day.
LOL hiii pretty girl ;D you are so funny - i love how you had to make a correction note about saying floored with bhaha TOO CUTE! it's perfect b/c i'm heading to the city thursday - that april polish is GORGEOUS! We're both April babies :)))))
As a collector of many blushes, do you think the Chanel limited edition blush is worth it? Like do you think it's nice to have and look at or is it actually really good to use?
I love using my beauty blender with Perfection Lumiere! Love the video Rachel. Where can I purchase the Dior Rose Glow Awakening blush? Will you be doing a video on that collection?
i picked up the blush from the collection because arguably it's probably the best product from the bunch. i am still keeping my eye on the polishes though...=) hard to resist chanel's seasonal polishes.
You are so pretty without and with makeup :) I want to start using a concealer for my under eyes and breaks out but I don't have any makeup if I purchase a concealer do I have to apply foundation? Can you suggest me any products please I have combination sensitive skin thanks
@771caro Aww, thank you! And no, if you blend in your concealer well, it will look just fine without foundation :) Try the Laura Mercier for facial blemishes and Bobbi Brown from the eyes!
Yay! Been looking forward to your video on the Chanel spring collection. ^_^ Thanks for a great tutorial (as usual). Looking forward to more! Hopefully you will do a final recommendation about spring collections from various brands as there are so many to choose from! It'll give me some idea of what to expect when they arrive here in Australia - I've no idea when! xo
Hi Rae, What concealer can you recommend for the under-eyes that don't crease but is heavy duty? (perhaps with a little setting powder but does not require too much)
I've tried bobbi brown corrector as well as amazing concealer and they both really crease on me =/
Hey Rae, do you prefer the beauty blender over a brush when using the perfection lumire foundation? Because I have it, and whenever I use it with my F80 from sigma it eat away the product..
Wow I love the look Rae! Great for an everyday wear probably =) I know you own a ton of Chanel lipsticks, but you also mentioned before that you lips peel a lot so you're very specific about your lipsticks. I'm getting that now since it's so cold and dry in Canada =S would you recommend the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines for dry/flaky lips?
@TropicalMists Rouge Coco lipsticks cause less peeling than the Shines.. for me, anyway. The Shines tend to cause my lips to shrivel once the product dries down!
Hi Rae!! Love your videos!! Had a few comments/questions. Do you have a suggestion for a good inexpensive/drugstore concealer for blemishes/acne scars? Can you do some videos about your favorites in different categories: eyes, lips, etc.?
I'm really happy to hear that you are not a concealer fan! I have been struggling with concealer for a long time, and find that it often makes the situation worse (probably a testament to my skill and not the concealer itself) but it's nice to hear someone say it's not a must!

Hey Rae, I have really puffy undereye circles, can you recommend a good concealer or something that cancels out the puffiness?
chanelprincesss 1 month ago
@chanelprincesss Use a cold spoon to reduce the puffiness before applying concealer :)

I love using my beauty blender with Perfection Lumiere! Love the video Rachel. Where can I purchase the Dior Rose Glow Awakening blush? Will you be doing a video on that collection?

igotnocookieforu 1 month ago
@igotnocookieforu Try using a thicker base coat, like Deborah Lippmann's!

i picked up the blush from the collection because arguably it's probably the best product from the bunch. i am still keeping my eye on the polishes though...=) hard to resist chanel's seasonal polishes.

You are so pretty without and with makeup :) I want to start using a concealer for my under eyes and breaks out but I don't have any makeup if I purchase a concealer do I have to apply foundation? Can you suggest me any products please I have combination sensitive skin thanks
771caro 1 month ago
@771caro Aww, thank you! And no, if you blend in your concealer well, it will look just fine without foundation :) Try the Laura Mercier for facial blemishes and Bobbi Brown from the eyes!

Yay! Been looking forward to your video on the Chanel spring collection. ^_^ Thanks for a great tutorial (as usual). Looking forward to more! Hopefully you will do a final recommendation about spring collections from various brands as there are so many to choose from! It'll give me some idea of what to expect when they arrive here in Australia - I've no idea when! xo

Hi Rae, what was the eyeliner pencil you used? I heard you say ysl but I went on your blog and it says urban decay, Thanks :)
jennniexo 1 month ago
@jennniexo Oh, I forgot to list it! Thank you for reminding me. The brown eyeliner is YSL's waterproof pencil :)

Hi Rae, What concealer can you recommend for the under-eyes that don't crease but is heavy duty? (perhaps with a little setting powder but does not require too much)
I've tried bobbi brown corrector as well as amazing concealer and they both really crease on me =/
Kariinarina 1 month ago
@Kariinarina I've had the best luck with Le Metier de Beaute's Peau Vierge concealer. It doesn't budge after it sets!

Hey Rae, do you prefer the beauty blender over a brush when using the perfection lumire foundation? Because I have it, and whenever I use it with my F80 from sigma it eat away the product..
SreyneangRos 1 month ago
@SreyneangRos Yes, I prefer the Beauty Blender over the brush when it comes to Perfection Lumiere :)

TropicalMists 1 month ago
@TropicalMists Rouge Coco lipsticks cause less peeling than the Shines.. for me, anyway. The Shines tend to cause my lips to shrivel once the product dries down!

i love this collection so much, the seasonal collections always come out later in canada and i just cant wait for it!

Hi Rae!! Love your videos!! Had a few comments/questions. Do you have a suggestion for a good inexpensive/drugstore concealer for blemishes/acne scars? Can you do some videos about your favorites in different categories: eyes, lips, etc.?
pchen88 1 month ago
@pchen88 My favorite drugstore concealer is the Revlon Photoready but it isn't good for blemishes, really. I can't quite say which is, sorry!
