@slannmage Look, the thing is that the longer Kimi is out of F1, the harder it will be for him to come back....Kimi has most likely planned to drive only 1 year at Williams, to show other that he still got the skillz, and then if/when Mark Webber or Schumi retire after 2012, he could get to either RedBull or Mercedes...its better to come to drive Williams next year, to learn the new tracks like Korea and India, learn about the new tyres and DRS, than to be yet another year out of F1.
It wont work out like that though, he'll be at the back and no one will care. Sure he'll be beating his team mate but who cares they're both crap and it proves nothing. He said he has no interested in racing in F1 to make up the numbers, going to Williams is doing just that.
@slannmage Well first of all Williams cant do much worse than they have done this year, the only way is up. They are getting new sponsors, which will bring them more money to develope the car, they got totally different people designing next year car and they finally get better engines when that piece of crap Cosworth changes to Renault engines.
And Kimi has now realized that he just can't come back to one of the best teams straight away, after 2 years break,no matter how much he would want that
@kkurzeid Massa the 2nd best? Since his accident he's not the same as before... Alonso is a dickhead and a fantastic driver, too. I don't like Ferrari at all too, but Alonso might be the best or 2nd best on the grid. BTW I'ts HoCKenheim.
@007SonnyBlack Might have something to do with the accident but I honestly think Ferrari just doesn't care about Massa anymore, thanks to Alonso and his bank money. A couple of races ago they even said something like "you're ruining it for the team" to Massa on the team radio. He's the new Barrichello, more or less.
@DominarTyranT1 - As team mates Massa scored 12 poles to Kimi's 5. Therefore it is most likely that Massa is simply faster than Raikkonen. If we consider this and the fact that Kimi was getting paid 5 times more than Massa then we can say Kimi got the boot for good reason...
@Anime998877 I was a Kimi fan.. He could pull out some amazing stuff during the race, but Alonso is in another class completly. Forza Ferrari! Forza Alonso!
@LiamStroudy09 I think Ferrari shouldve gone with Kimi and Alonso. Where Kimi supposedly had his biggest downfall was delevoping the car [we know how bad kimi's communication skills are!!] and his motivation. After Kimi won the championship it looked like he didnt care anymore. In my opinion, Kimi could have been one of the best drivers of all time - he just wasnt bothered driving to his best.
@IrishRu5T I'd agree with that statement, I definetly don't think he'd be the best option for Williams mainly due in the fact that they wouldn't have a competitive car; especially seeing as though he's not the spring chicken he once was, although it would be great to see the Iceman back. He probably could still have a case as the greatest driver, he'll be like Moss with a World Championship - remembered for his wins rather than his dominance.
It was, Kimi had a contract for 2010 but Alonso dislikes teammates on his level so there was no other choice than kicking Kimi out of their team. Pretty straight forward.
Not exactly the whoop-whoops and cheers you often hear from Sebastian Vettel, but this is another example of what makes Kimi, Kimi. Pure understated natural racing ability.
Besides, I get sick of hearing Sebastian Vettel announce that his most recent race win is always "his best race win"
I thought for a second that it was Martin Brundle speaking to Kimi after James Allen says "Jean Todt there the team boss of ferrari". But the first voice is Kimi, second is Todt and the 3rd could be his race engineer?
@emersonpla It is sad, but you are right, Felipe lost his wings. He'd better move out of F1 before something terrible happens to him due to the obvious changes in his driving ability, especially the consistency of his driving. I don't know if his brain is sort of damaged (I would not wonder after that HUGE impact) or if it's just his attitude that changed a little (but a little can mean a LOT in Formula One - life or death, for example). Bear in mind that the helmets are BULLETPROOF and STILL...
@jakubkrcma Are you kidding? Massa has lost his edge but he is not a bad or dangerous driver. He's still more talented than many of the other drivers on the grid. He has one of if not THE toughest team mate to go up against in all of formula one.
@OMGtehWINNAR Hopefully, he is recovering to the shape he was in before the accident in 2009. He won in Turkey 3 consecutive times, so he is obviously a winner. It's just that sometimes the body/mind can change in a way that prevents future success. I hope he gets better and better (and Robert Kubica too).
we need kimi back in f1. he's the most laid-back person EVER. ice-cream and coke in malaysia when the race was rained out, while all the other drivers were still in their cockpits waiting.
there is a curse on F1. who win the first race, will be world champion. you can see it in 2007-raikkonen, 2008-hamilton, 2009-button. will it be alonso this year?? you never know.
Yeah and going back in time the first ones not to win championship despite winning the first race of the season are Fisico in 05 and DC in 03 lolz!
Then the next names on the list are Irvine, DC again and then it takes a longer step to Mansell in 89... so that's 5 occasions in 21 seasons, making Alonso's championship statistically over 75% certain. Damn it!
Typical Raikkonen... no comments, no gratitute for the engineers or his team for giving him a winning car. He may have raw talent but he's a bore as a personality.
@supercooled Didn't you hear him say "Great job at the beginning?" And I've heard him express his gratitude to the team many times during press conferences. Has it ever occurred to anyone that Kimi might be sort of ... shy about those things? I know I am, I am really hard to say thanks...
@supercooled At the very beginning, that's Kimi giving his thanks. Kimi is a different, but GOOD guy. He comes from relatively poor background and had to struggle a lot to get to F1. He's no arrogant idiot or anything like that. And he still meets the same people as before he became world famous. He's a nice person just with a strange "interface".
It depends of driver's personality. As you saw, seasons before he became the WDC were better. 2005 was the best of him and only lack of reliability gave the title to Alonso. But you seem to be a Raikkonen hater or Alonso's fan, so this discussion is pointless. Enjoy your Alonso's fails.
Ferrari paid Kimi 25 million euros, they give the same to alo this yearr. Massa was only the second half of 2008 better then Kimi and the first half of 09 they were pretty equal coz kimi had a bit more bad luck. And 2007 Kimi WDC so....
25 million euro doesn't equal 51 million US. And ferrari rubbished that anyway saying that Alonso's salary was unrealistic.
Raikkonen better in the first half is bullshit. He and Massa were level on points after 9 races. Also in 2009 Massa was trouncing Kimi. He had 22 points to Kimi's 10 before his accident. Reliability issues cost Massa at least a top 5 finish in australia and a top 5 finish in china. Let's not forget his collision in bahrain and fuel irregularities in spain as well.
uhh 51 million dollars US was all with all for Kimi, with his own personal sponsors for example Red Bull (they even sponsered him at Ferrari) and Tag Heuer. I dont bother if Alo doesn't have so much personal sponsers. They get/got paid by Ferrari the same amount.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Whatever you say mate. I just know what I see in front of me. And I see Alonso has been trouncing Massa who beat Raikkonen 2 out of 3 years. Plus we know Hamilton was even with Alonso in 2007. Hamilton, and Alonso, and Massa are better than Raikkonen.
Now ur kidding arent you ? Massa better then Raikkonen? he isn't even world champion! Kimi almost 3 times. But never mind, i think we should stop this conversation as we'll never agree.
@bigraikkonenfan5 yh don't mind that moron, alonso even with Hamilton, that dude is nuts, Hamilton raped alonso in his first year in F1, and when Kimi was treated as he should have been (2007), we all saw how it ended. Kimi first Hamilton second then the rest.
@Anime998877. Räikkönen got the mos points at the second half of last season with a much worse car than this years ferrari. Aloso has not made that good in this year. Also the reason why Alonso beats Massa so easily is the same reason why Nico Beats Schumaher easily. The slim front tyres do not fit to their drivingstyles. Schumaher said that because of the tyres he had to change his drivingstyle almost for every lap.
No he didn't. Hamilton got the most points in last season's second half.... And Nico isn't better than Schumacher. In the last 6 races, Schumacher's been quicker in 5... You people got to stop looking at points, Schumacher's had some devastating luck this year ffs. And about Massa vs Alonso, Massa's been useless against him. And Massa's had more than enough time to sort the car out.
@Anime998877. By what logic. Hamilton and Kovalainen both brought points to MCLaren in th second half. When Fisicella drived with Raikkonen Fisicella didnt get even 1 point and still ferrari loset to MCLaren with a few points.
Hamilton got 40 points in the second half of 2009, Raikkonen got 38.. I don't doubt Hamilton had a better car, but Raikkonen had a better car in the first half of the season. Plus your second argument doesn't matter as Massa got as much points as Kovalainen did in half the season.
Villenevue got beaten by Hill in 1996. Then in 1997 Villenevue beat HH Frentzen, who did better than Hill in Jordan in 1998 and 1999.
Driver's performance isn't contstant and depends of many things. car may be the same for both drivers, but can also suit one more than the other. Another thing is that Raikkonen in Ferrari was just bored with the F1 and what is more, didn't get on with the team. Especially domenicali. KR from 2005 would beat Alonso, Massa, even Hamilton
Nonsense. 1996 was Villeneuve's rookie season. I'm sure Villeneuve would have beat Hill in 1997. Yea the car can suit one more than the other, that's no excuse. Kimi is the world champion, he should be demanding what he wants with the car development. Raikkonen bored in ferrari is also rubbish, he won his first world championship there after moving out of mclaren, and that world championship should have brought even more out of him...but it didn't..
@Anime998877 That's like saying Rosberg is better then Schumacher.....Raikonen won when it mattered, and got him self a Championship...Massa beat Raikonen 2 times when the car had no chance of winning the title...just like this year with Rosberg and Schumacher.
@Anime998877 Well said. atleast you provided the facts. It hurts Raikkonen fans when you dont agree with them because In reality Kimi is a slob. He's good pilot. Just a wanker and hes not the best.
aaand it's official, kimi will not be in f1, atleast not next year. mclaren and him couldn't get to an agreement. hes manager said so in a local news site/paper here (finland) so i guess it's rally for next year for kimi.
how does this video even exist when kimi didnt have radio throughout the race?

@Anime998877 Well said. atleast you provided the facts. It hurts Raikkonen fans when you dont agree with them because In reality Kimi is a slob. He's good pilot. Just a wanker and hes not the best.

aaand it's official, kimi will not be in f1, atleast not next year. mclaren and him couldn't get to an agreement. hes manager said so in a local news site/paper here (finland) so i guess it's rally for next year for kimi.
