I`m totaly noob at this... Can someone please tell me step by step how to get my DD501 drumkit to work wit EZdrummer. I have installed the program but can not find it on my computer.. The drumset is connected to the pc by usb and drivers is installed.. I run windows7.. I assume that i need some other software/ drivers to get it working... PLEASE HELP!! (kan svare på norsk)

@audimannen2 hi this program is not an stand-alone program u need to run this with another host recording program such as Sonar, Cubase, Protools, etc etc... U might try a freeware called reaper, its VERY light and powerful. Good luck

Er det vanskelig og sette opp trommesettet mot EZ?

Trenger jeg noe annet i tillegg til EZ og det orginale som kommer med Medeli-501?

Jeg vet ikke så mye om dette. Men hvordan kobler man det sammen. EZ er jo et plug-in program og jeg skal bare bruke det for å endre lydene på trommesettet.

I'm looking at these drums on a site, to start learning drums, and it says they have a dual-trigger snare pad-does that mean they have more than a one sound range?

I mean, if you hit the rim, does it sound like you're hitting the rim, or like some kits just sounds the same as if you hit the centre?

if you use bfd2 ezdrummer addictive drums this kit will sound realy fantastic just hook it up to your pc with usb job done you will get the sound of a very very good kit for almost no money

@GestureStew Hey, the kit can be set up to send standard GM mapping, which EZdrummer will accept out of the box. Not sure about addictive, I assume its the same..

I have a 501 and use it through my computer with EZDrummer and I'm happy. The built in sounds are very plain and dull. The sensitivity down low isn't there, but overall I'm very happy with it for the price.

I'm having alot of trouble getting usb connection to register in software.

Concerning the kit tho I find it alittle cramped, U hit other toms etc when lifting off with the sticks. Also not alot of support for the frame so it shakes about quite a bit.

The 502 and up are a little wider which seems to give extra room and frame support, but saying that they cost a shitload more too!

All in all I'm enjoying the 501 immensely, lets just hope my software wakes up and I can use better sounds!

hmm that's strange, in windows 7 and XP laptops the USB midi device detected perfectly. In windows 7 it appear as 'edrums', in XP as something generic, but both work in my audio software with EZDrummer

The kit is fairly cramped but I managed to adjust it so the toms are far enough out of the way. I never quite found a good hihat position though.

I had a look at the DD502 and as far as I can tell it doesn't have rim shot, or velocity sensitive hat pedal

you can actually. Get..

1) A computer with a DIN plug MIDI OUT

2) MIDI loopback software

3) any game controller with DIN plug MIDI IN (The bandhero drums module is removable!)

The kit uses USB standard midi, so if you plug that into your computer you can use a standard DIN Midi OUT from the computer to the Midi IN of the GH drums.

You'll need a simple Midi loopback (like hubisloopback) to route the USB midi to the midi out of the computer

btw I haven't actually DONE this but it should work :)

ps I think this will work but the only real evidence I've seen is someone plugging bandhero drums INTO the guitar hero drums via it's midi in to get an extra snare drum (bandhero drums come with Midi out too)

Haven't tried to use double kick pedal, but apparently it is possible. The kit sends standard midi signals, so the sounds you get from it depends on the software you use..

You can't.. The kit sends MIDI-signals to a Mac (through USB) and triggers Toontracks EZDrummer software. I.e. the computer generates the sound, not the drumkit.

the whole double pedal issue with this set has ben no problem for me. i have been able to fit it on the kit without any changes to the bass pad, dunno if that helps at all :)

Hi, it's not possible to use a double pedal on this unfortunately.. You'll need the DD-506 for that.

I guess if you simply bought an audio merger adapter and got another kick assembly and plugged both kicks into the one jack plug it might work. I doubt there's enough room for a double kick on the single kick trigger though

Jeg har akkurat kjøpt dette settet. Og settet låter bra sammen med EZDrummer. Helt likt som på videoen. Men det må sies at hvis du skal ta opp med det så blir slagene sent tatt opp på optaks programmer som Feks Cubase eller Protools. fordi det ikke følger med noen drivere. Men med et bra lyd kort Feks Presonus Firestudio som jeg har så blir det ikke noe delay på lyden, bare på optaket av midien fra trommesettet.

Es muy facil, se conecta Por Usb, Le escoges en la opcion midi del ez drummer, que la entrada sea dispositivo de audio, esa es la forma en que el pc reconoce la bateria...

En liten advarsel! Denne videon blir litt feil! Lydenen i dette settet er fra ez-drummer og har sånn sett ingenting med dette medeli el-trommesettet å gjøre. Faktisk så er de innebygde lydene (ihvertfall de jeg har hørt) STINKENDE DÅRLIG!!!

Skal få dette settet til å låte slik det gjør på denne videoen må du faktisk kjøpe deg (dersom du da ikke har fra før) en datamaskin, et godt lydkort, et bra musikkprogram, ez-drummer, høytalere/monitorer (har jeg glemt noe?).

The text in the beginning of the clip says that he is using sounds from EZdrummer and not the internal DD501 sounds. It is nice to know that option exists, but the video might fool some people that the sounds actually are as good as they sound here, which I doubt they are. I would be nice to have a similar demo with the internal sounds to compare.
