This is a crazy spot where 90% roll through the sign because there are usually train cars there blocking the vision and there is also a dog wood tree hanging out so youhave to roll out to see. One technically should fully stop and the dot has been retarded about slapping peoples hands here. They should be more concerned about the east indian driver they cleared through customs behind a 140,000 lb vehicle who barely speaks a lick of English. This is coming right out of Canada into Washington state USA so every truck and load is run through that blue building that you see. There is a small truck with a boom and it hangs over the truck and it ex rays you while you slowly drive through it looking for drugs etc. There are also several other detectors looking for hazardous radioactive materials and what have you before you get to this check point.

Some dummy bust it and you gotta go back to the dealer, it seems. I like the old school way of doing things.

yeah, and they're not exactly cheap to replace! The new International mirrors, chromed, heated and powered, are at least a few hundred bucks per side. not like the old flat glass ones, not at all!

I'm willing to bet that for the truck manufacturers, the mirrors make good economic sense, but for the owner-operator, and company fleet, the extra expense could be done without.

Of course, it's not like you're busting mirrors every day, but when it happens, and it's proprietary, you have to wait over the weekend for replacement on the road..... well, I think the old school setups make smarter business sense.

I agree! the old-school-"Moto-mirror," and those stick-on heater elements don't add up as fast as the new ones! and you could possibly keep these items in stock, not so for the new ones. a lot of money to spend for something that might break or might not.

They were about 10,000.00 factory but custom made would be more. Cal the owner of this black pete said he had ten grand into the pipes.
