  • HARRYYYYYYYY !!!!

  • Re-watched video. 5 times. 1st - 'feel lucky?' guy as he comes out. 2nd - 2nd bank robber (misses) 3rd - driver, hits window 4th - car as it crashes 5th - normally cut, robber gets out of car

  • How many times did he really shoot? Five or six? Count 'em. Harry fired four rounds at the bank robbery. He had two left for the "Make my day" guy.

  • @sciguyjeff Count again! He fired six times.

  • " My..... that's a big one..."

  • "Smith Wesson and Me"

  • "Now you know why they call me Dirty Harry...every dirty job that comes along."

  • Man the Bass lines are so damn cool in this theme. The best cop theme music of the 70s! The music at the end of the movie is sad and moving; it left me with the feeling that no matter how hard Harry tried; he sort of feels frustrated and alone in his quest to be a cop who makes a real difference. You know that although he got Scorpio; there's that empty feeling that crawls in his gut because despite his best efforts he couldn't save that girl that was left in that hole to die. Sadness.

  • @zenjim007 My favorite soundtrack of all time. The one from "To Live and Die in L.A." is great too. Good to run into a Dirty Harry fan. Yes, the music at the end, and the music as they pull the girl out of the hole, very sad. Have you ever noticed the subtle difference between the "most powerful handgun in the world" speech he lays on the bank robber in the beginning and the one he lays on the Scorp? Great stuff man.

  • @zenjim007 Yeah, Schifrin is definitely one of the best...top tier. Jerry Goldsmith, Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin (and not in that order)...when your movie or TV show is scored by one of these giants, LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!! I'm still wondering if Carol Kaye did the bass work here...it sounds like her style, and I know she worked with Schifrin (who didn't she work with?).

  • @wannawatchu66 Carol Kaye is definitely one of the greatest Bass players of all time. She worked with so many super stars. She is credited for putting the Fender precision bass guitar on the map. I read an interview with her and she stated that the Fender precision Basses of 1970s were the best sounding basses ever and she always used flat wounds strings. to keep her trademark sound smooth. Sting has said she was his greatest influence in his playing.

  • five people don't feel lucky

  • "Anyone can see I didnt do that to him"

    "How so?"

"Cos he looks too damn good, that's how"

  • Dirty Harry = badass

  • Oh Yeah bring on 1970+

  • This is true Dirty Harry music,

after magnum it turns into jazz that really puts u out of the movie.

I might have liked the enforcer if it had some decent music like this...

  • got nothing on the boss nigga xD

  • sounds a lot like Enter the Dragon.

  • Oh, I love this piece of music. It encapsulates its era and subject matter so precisely.

  • "Harry you do that and so help me god I'll bust you lower than whale shit" Chief

"Speaking of whale shit, hwat have you been up to lately Briggs"? Harry

Lines form the morgue scene in Magnum Force

  • Ward or Magnum.

    Choose Wisely Harry!

  • "Here's a seven-point suppository, Captain."

    "What did you say?"

"I said stick it in your ass!"

  • - Bressler: That was a pretty good pinch you made yesterday. The chief was pleased.

    - Harry: He was, huh?

    - Bressler: Yeah, he was. He wanted me to tell you, "Well done."

    - Harry: Can't tell you how deeply moved I am.

  • @motherflange "It might not even kill you to say thanks."

"I'd rather say thanks to a raise."

  • "I..I..I..I changed my mind, i'm going to let her die ! I just wanted you to know that !"

  • We need Dirty Harry for President!

  • There is one question. Why do they call you dirty harry?

Now you know why they call me dirty harry, every dirty job that comes along

  • When I visited San Francisco during my time in CA, I always thogght of this song while walking down the streets.

  • Dirty Harry that is!!!

  • @harris3693 i'm a Brit and happen to think that this is the best film of all time and also the best soundtrack too!!

  • @BritishSexComedy yes, and bullit is almost as good or even slightly better, Lalo Schrifrin has made the music for both of these film, he's a genius, and Clint is the toughest man ever lived

  • @KAT1906jan "Hey, Harry."

    "Hi, lieutenant."

"Harry, no matter what they say, you did right on that Scorpio case."

"Thanks. That politician, whats his name?"

    "Chalmers."

"Yeah, Chalmers. He still giving you crap?"

    "Nah, he's done."

    "Well, that's something."

  • @KAT1906jan Yeah but Clint isn't a good ole boy who played college football like Burt Reynolds so he can't be tough for real. Plus Burt has 10 times more chest hair & he lost his hair from too much testosterone so that proves right there who's got the bigger gonads.

  • @metamorphosis67 .... Burt is a pussy compared to Clint.

  • @wodanowitz Ah, but is he the mayor of Steelport?

  • I know it's weird, but some parts actually remind me of "Immigrant song" by Led Zeppelin...

  • @WilbertGyllenhal In Scorpio theme it's heared wery clear

  • @WilbertGyllenhal nah,,, listen to ( scorpio's theme schifrin) at 1:25 secs...nothing weird about that...think zeppelin nicked it....

"When a naked man is chasing a woman with a butcher knife and a hard on, I figure he ain't collecting for the red cross."

  • @Shanethefilmmaker "He's got a point."

  • @InnerMantra Wondering that myself...an unlucky punk?

  • greatest cop movie ever!

  • This song is funky as all getup

  • Lalo Schifrin is quite talented.

  • if you guys like this, you'd like my goodfriend jtrue93 trying to keep real music alive. he's a really talented 17 year old composer.

  • I'm wondering if Carol Kaye did the bass work here. She played with Schifrin and Blaine enough, it wouldn't surprise me. Kinda sounds like her style.

  • Fuck harry potter! Harry Callahan kicks ass!

  • @marchrabbit85 Harry Potter sucks voldomort's dick, fuckin brits!!!

  • Harry whips around, gun in hand, facing the guy coming up behind him, shotgun in hand.

    "Good morning, Horace."

"Where the hell did you get that?"

"I've had it for awhile, I just thought I'd get used to it."

"I heard about the car. FABULOUS, coming after you in tanks."

  • ALWAYS TREMENDOUS!

  • who plays drums on this track was it andy newmark I know he played on lalo schifrins albums not sure on this though.

  • @temulterousbazoon A good guess would be Hal Blaine. I know he did a lot of soundtrack work.

  • My favorite part of this theme is from 1:00 to 1:35. The drums, congas and electric bass blend together so beautifully, accented by those nice little piano bursts. Some of Lalo's best work!

Eastwood felt he got too old.

  • every time i hear this music,i keeping looking out for scorpio, one scary dude,

  • Excellent! You have the version with the piano at 1:21 not on the Dirty Harry Anthology.

  • Well Billy Cobham im guiet sure anyway dam good

  • Poor Harry, all he wanted was a cup of coffee, and instead had to deal with some punks attempting a robbery.

  • Who´s on drums here? cobham?

  • Somebody said Grady Tate. Whoever it was, it was somebody who's bad as hell.

  • surely - - that´s impossible to copy that 70´s feeling

  • @mileswarm - Yup - isn't that too, too supercool?

  • @mileswarm Yeah, I love that line too. Great stuff! Peace

  • @mileswarm I've always wondered without sriously looking for the info. It could be Harvey Mason too! Too dynamic and funky! Add Carol Kay and that's it :)

  • could be .... but I don´t know he´s played with someone in that time... but could be, could be (know him from 80´s with Lee Ritenour)

  • OMG dirty harry rocks!!!

  • The baddest!!!!

  • even though Eastwood himself is near (if not already) 80, do you suppose they could squeeze one more Dirty Harry movie out of him if they did it soon enough?

  • Uh...no.

  • @OneCrazyWolfman

I'm pretty sure he made it clear after Gran Torino that that would be his last acting role, but I don't know about directing,

  • Thanks for chimming in your two cents sloth545. At least you had more of a well thought out answer than MadScout. Well if not Eastwood in another movie, how about another actor playing Dirty Harry in a modern TV series?

  • @OneCrazyWolfman I think sloth545 explained obvious reasons why what seemed like a joke was wrong while MadScout thought it was a joke and gave a jokingly sarcastic answer.

  • dirty harry is like my fucking role model

  • After Scorpio tells the press Harry beat him up.

Harry: "Anybody can tell i didn't do that to him."

    Chief: " How's that ?"

Harry: "Cause he looks to damm good that's how."

  • @OneCrazyWolfman "i hit my girlfriend so her brother hit me.....several times"
