I love how the military is spending a lot of money on weapons and stuff, but only make 2 frame animations to explain the weapons XD Good video though :) Made me kind of understand how it works... Still not sure if the barrel is moved down to receive the next bullet or not :/
No, The beretta's falling block system keeps the barrel in line, most guns use a tilting barrel browning method.
The beretta stays horizontal, however It is not fixed and does move.
The barrel has it's own set of mini rails and it travels rearward with the slide a short distance, then the locking block falls (actually it's pushed by a plunger) and stops the barrels movement.
From that point the slide cycles rearward, grabs a round, feeds it as it links back up with the barrel.
@opisex Ok, cool, thx :) I'll remember that, thinking of making a 3D animation/physics simulation of a beretta, done a desert eagle and a glock like pistol. Right now I'm actually making a 5.56 rifle (my own design) :)

@auburnfootball44. Your quite the brainless douche aren't ya. Having worked with the marines and army over seas I'll tell you this. You wouldn't hack it one week through their basic training. Get a fuckin
It stays in single action, The slide automatically cocks the hammer every time you fire and it loads a new round.
Only the 1st shot is double action.
The safety also serves as a decock function.. So the hammer is automatically dropped (without discharge) when flip the safety on.. So when you turn the safety off and go to fire again the 1st shot will be DA.
@opisex The Coast Guard Edition of the M9 came with a Barrel and magazine in .40 S&W that could be changed out with the 9mm barrel and magazine. Beretta made a special Edition of this pistol in the mid 90s. I passed it up to buy the 96D, at the time I preferred .40 S&W. Am still kicking myself for passing it up. :(
the 92/m9 is a solid gun, it's older design and heavier then the newer polymer framed guns, it's about 2 1/4 lb's compared to a glock which runs about 1.5lbs
it has a fat grip so those with small hands might have trouble.
beyond that the 92/m9 is a very reliable.. very accurate handgun.
you should shoot one to see for your self as anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about.
if they dont like the m9 it's personal preference not a bad gun.
@piketyl000 There are some monumental idiots in this world, including servicemen. The m9 has been used since the 80's, of course there are going to be bad reviews of it. I traced my m9's serial number back to 1988! AND IT'S STILL IN SERVICE! Of course nobody understands this because it's too easy and obvious to give credit to a non glock. Only glock is durable right? And a 23 year old glock would be waaaayyyy better... Fuck Elvis and fuck you.
i should not laugh but this video was a bit comical. informative though. or in simple words. load a round. drop the safety and fire. also i like checking my guns by putting my had in front of the barrel. it very effective way of checking.
Yes. It replaced the legendary Colt 1911 back in the 80's and has been with us ever since. Probably one of the most controversial moves in our weapons history.
Im a small arms repairmen in the army and this was the first weapon they teach you to work on in training. They teach you to completely disasemble it down to a bare fram and slide. Fastest my instructor ever saw it disasembled and then reasembled was 5min 56sec. I was able to do it in 6:20. If you can find a manual online here you could take it down that far as well and put it back together. Its really not that hard
First time i shot a gun was a beretta 92, easy to use, never had any instruction on how to use firearms

@opisex if you put it on the single action mode and fire it once, will it stay at the single action mode or will it go to the double action?

What is the latest version of this pistal ? is it 92A1 ?
gtvapsamtik 1 year ago
@gtvapsamtik
the 92a1 is a new 92 variant.. it should be noted that it has a number of changes.. not 100% part compatible with previous 92/m9
it's sort of a cross between the 92 and a 90-two.
it was reported that the 90-two will be discontinued.. it was suppose to supersede the 92 line (although not directly replace it immediately)
it had a cool reception.. it was more expensive and although it had improvements did'nt gain much popularity.

@GoldenRing1989
the m9 is a military designation, the m9 has a few (very few) differences but is mechanically the same as the 92fs.
there is no m96.. the military does'nt use .40S&W.
however you can get a beretta 96, which is the same as the 92 but chambered in .40s&w (this is probably what you're referring to by m96)
functionality wise the 92 and 96 is the same so ya to answer your question this video would also apply to a 96.
there is also a 98, chambered in 9x21mm, rather then 9x19 (9mm)
