i know hes a lot older now, but even now ive never seen him ever play famous classical songs like alhambra or leyenda ever again. now not to be mean or anything but i think sungha is one of those guitar players that could play soo much crazy shit and popular songs, that make everyone go wow. but then when it comes down to skills that require a lot of discipline i think he'd lack in that.
@1995102 he sometimes used techniques like tremolo in his arrangements. more recent one is "paint it black". i saw some of his lives perfromance in youtube, his tremolo improved a lot. i do hope he could redo some classical songs.
@pinoyblues69 well in fainress hes what? like 5 man, wow ur big being able to insult him,..b y the time hes older he will b bout 100 tiems better then u could ever dream of being so quit being such a cunt
@pinoyblues69 sungha wasn't forced to learn the guitar. He picked it up himself. And I doubt he'll stop playing anytime soon. He loves music and playing the guitar.
1) You could hardly be more mistaken about this young man's parenting. Far from being pressured or forced into playing the guitar, he persisted in his playing in spite of his parents trying to discourage him at first. Then, when they realized that he was serious, they began to support him and have done so ever since.
2) Are you familiar with his progress as revealed through his other videos? The friendships, sponsorships, etc. he has won?
I found this pretty impressive. And he looks much younger here than his recent videos. If he were to upload this song one more time, I bet his skills improved very much.
@MUSlC1213 tremolo is a classical technique that needs to be constantly reinforced to stay playable. Im sure he has improved since then, but the fact remains that he is not a classical player and does not use a classical technique. Tremolo is something that takes many years to master, and only with the use of correct technique.
@MUSlC1213 not at all. you can learn something quite quickly and be very good at - case point our boy sungha here. that doesn't mean that the faster you become proficient at something the faster you master it. especially not the case with tremolo technique.
True to some cases but usually it works out so the a person who became proficient faster masters the skill faster.
And I was trying talking about Sungha's ability to master skills at a rate most people can't possibly catch up to. Most people that have achieved the level Sungha is at played as long as Sungha has lived.
I'm sure if Sungha decided to switch to classical, he would catch up to you in the matter of months.
@MUSlC1213 Mastery is up to practice - this kid practices like a boss. Thats why he gets good at things so fast. Sungha has been playing longer than i have however. i'm now at university in my second year of a performance degree. I don't think he could catch up to that level that quickly. They are just two very different styles and require completely different approaches. Dont get me wrong however, i think the kid is great. What is your experience if i may ask?
I've actually playing the classical guitar for a couple months now. However, I've been playing the acoustic and piano for couple years. In some ways, the classical guitar is easier than the acoustic because there is more space between the strings and the nylon strings are easier to press down on the fret. Switching from acoustic and classical isn't completely different. It just takes some time to getting used to.
@MUSlC1213 that's pretty good. you can obviously speak for the steel side of things. But when it comes to the classical guitar i don't really think you have the experience to commenting on such things as this. don't take it personally - i just think you aren't informed enough to add any weight to your discussion. assuming that C.G is instantly easier to play because it has a larger fretboard is something many people assume. Not the case. Also, the pressing down thing depends on the tension.
No, but speaking as a Youtuber, I can tell you that some people are born with a gift. It might take years to learn something for normal people and may take months to learn for gifted people to learn the same thing. Sungha obviously has a gift. Maybe not for classical guitar but we will never know unless he switches to classical.
@MUSlC1213 oh yeah for sure! im not saying that hes a crap player at all. Its just he has a gift for what he does - why ruin a good thing by changing halfway. And yeah i have seen that video before - something makes me feel that kid got it awfully bad from the parentals. But hey, look where she is now. I'd like to see what that kid is doing now, but i havent been able to locate any videos.
Probably had some bad parenting but I can't imagine being that good at guitar unless you actually enjoy it. When you dread the intrument you are holding, you do not get anywhere in your skill especially if you are that young. And North Korea is pretty closed society so I don't expect to see many videos from them.
Sorry if I came out as a smart ass or a jerk. I was nice talking to you. You seem like a nice guy.
@MUSlC1213 yeah thats for sure. gotta enjoy it eh. but thats north korea for you. i hope that little girl gets a chance - it would be such a waste if she was to be hidden behind politics. Nah bro, healthy competitive discussion never hurt anyone! Open up your channel so people can see it however. please subscribe to my channel, watch my vids, comment etc :D would be awesome!
Brilliant! One of the best intepretatations of Recuerdos de la Alhambra I have ever heard, period! Sungha is obviously distorting tremolo to sing with his own voice, rather than choosing to merely display his virtuoso. Other versions may sound prettier, but this intepretation speaks and tells a story.
I hope Sungha does this more often. He's got the ear of a virtuoso, just waiting for his technique to catch up. Even Sungha can't perfect tremolo in the three days he gives himself to learn a tune.
If I was a snake oil salesman I would market a learn-to-play-guitar like a pro in 10 easy lessons scam, then I'd bring our Sungha to prove it works.
woah, he's way sick, much better than i expected. in spite of the criticisms of his tremelo, it sounds really very similar to recordings by professionals i've heard. he has a very good quality of sound he makes.
I see great potential in him and it is probably useless for me to leave a comment such as "balance the ima" or "quicker p return" becuase he probably knows what he needs to work on
la interpreta bastante bien pero necesita mejorar su tecnica.......he plays it very good, but he needs to improve his tecnic, he still have a long way to go

I believe, in his own fair terms, and in time, he'll decide whether to further explore "old school" classical or take off with "contemporary" modern sudo guitar music. Life is grand and whichever direction he is destined SungHa will do well. Guaranteed! Wish you the best Kiddo!!!!
Spend more time in playing classical guitar! Must be one of great guitarist like Lee Byung-Woo. Frankly, I had played Recuerdos de la Alhambra for more than 10 years, still not satisfactory. You have plenty of time to play it perfect!
roman 999 maybe you shoul stop being rascist and face that he is better than you and lots of guitar artists right now,i think this is a great piece and keep doing what you do the best, peace
I can't remember for sure, but I believe I can recall that Sungha admitted that he found tremelo picking difficult, and that he needed more practice.
However, this video is now 9 months old. Knowing Sungha like we do from his videos, and watching him grow and develop in all other respects, does anyone doubt that he'll meet the challenge? I wonder how much he's improved, and will continue to improve? I wonder what this would sound like if he played it today on his Lakewood?
This is nice for someone his age but it is not the height of the classical guitar. I think his hands are still a bit small to make all of the notes perfectly. However, he has a nice rubato, and he does not push the speed for his skill level. :)
How can he learn so fast and be so good in playing guitar? i know practices make perfect but not as good and as fast as he does and without a score! @-@ amazing.
Another spanish song plz

nice tremolo picking but thats one area that might need a little more practise of his but otherwise amazing as usual.
