I am gonna set up a new brit rock/folk and general singer/songwriter radio sation next year. Not just prog but other genuine brit talent covering the late 60's to early 80's and occasionally beyond.
Anyhow, I am really getting seriosuly into this track and the entire album it really is growing on me.
Also some bass playing that is more reminiscent of The Stranglers than Yes and Genesis with the great brashness of 10CC or Queen, even '70s Pretty Things... Quintessential English music making the bands name highly appropriate!
@malekmo50 Stranglers were always a closet prog rock band. "No more heroes" was undeniably a concession to punk - and it's really one of their weakest albums - but their first album is closer to Yes than the Sex Pistols. I know what you mean about 10cc and Queen here. Garden Shed is a great album!
The best marriage of what would become Neo-Prog from the "Old-School" fantasy lyrics of early 1970s Progressive, their lyrics had a more relative time frame of what life was like in the late 1970s, and way ahead of Pallas and IQ with titles like Tooting Bec Rape case on Last of the Jubblies.
gentle genesis met genesis

I like mellotron sounds on this tune.
The drum plays are similar to Bill Bruford on the album"Yes" "Time And A Word"

Don't mess around with The Stranglers, they all had good intensions and taste
and have made beautiful songs as well, but this Garden Shed was also for me more what I like to hear

Wow! Breathtaking! Listened this for the first time. And I was thinking Greenslade is the most underrated prog-group. This is a gem!
