I loved this video, and as a student in the field of wildlife biology I'm sad to say he probably won't be funding much in the way of environmental work. But hey, it's just some trees and the major tourism draw of our state, psssh, damn loons....
There are 2 ways to minimize the massive trade deficit that is killing this country and has destroyed our manufacturing base: 1 - import tarriffs (but that would spark a global trade war such as the one that extended the great depression.) 2 - Let the market determine wages rather than artificial minimum wages set up by brain dead bureaucrats.
You are correct you won't be able to buy stuff in the near future, but you can thank the Fed, the U.S Treasury and the massive deficit spending socialists in the White House for the extreme inflation coming our way. Paul LePage has nothing to do with it.
Narutoship, thank you for the insult. I am not an idiot and it sounds like you need to have a sense of humor yourself. Lighten up. Are all liberals this insensed when they don't get their way? You are sure going to have it rough LePage's second term. What other names will you call me and other LePage supporters then? Have a nice day and try not to kick the dog OK?
@homemadechickn Nor does it indicate a lack of wisdom. so far his political views indicate considerable wisdom. Government is the primary problem, it is not the answer.
@mdchellis yeah, I wasn't referring to Paul's need for education... guess you missed that one... I was referring to all the rural Mainers that got him elected...
@tidoublegrr68 oh and mdchellis, don't get ya panties all up in a bunch about it, I also live in rural Maine, and it was just humor, you know thought it sounded funny is all.
@tidoublegrr68 Thanks tidoublegrr68 (love Winnie the Pooh, as well) Sometimes the best thing we can do to respond to a situation is to deny our frustration and even our anger and just laugh. You understand our purpose...
I am a republican and I voted for Paul LePage. I am also a musician and have a sense of humor. You guys did a good job with this song. I just don't understand why liberals and democrats are so gloom and doom on LePage. He will be better than Baldacci, mark my word. In four years you can post this again and add a little more to it when he is re elected. Cheer up! I have a sense of humor, don't lose yours.
@revealedstuff Wise words. We really are all in this together. The sense of humor thing is essential and I thank you for your comment. I sincerely hope you are right.
This song absolutely made my day. It totally met me right where I am at with this situation. PLEASE let us know on your website when/if you start performing. I just listened to several of your songs and enjoyed every one. I think my favorite was Nac Mac Feegle with the awesome stop-animation video. I wish you had a CD for purchase!
@theletrg This song is available as a high-quality audio file for 99 cents at cdbaby.com (search for Strong Like Bull or Hello Paul) , We'll be on iTunes in a week or so.
For the first time since in my adult life I feel hope for the State of Maine. A man who has achieved success even though had a less than ideal childhood as our Governor-Elect and both chambers of the legislature in Republican hands. With Governor Paul LePage, Maine's future will be brighter.
@BeachPatriot He didn't create Marden's. He came to the company in the 1990's and laid/fired employees and reduced the full-timers down to part-time to save the company and turn it around financially. Expect more job loss, unemployment, and more need for welfare with this buffoon in charge!
@KayInMaine I am very aware of the history of Marden's and its ownership. Perhaps you would have preferred Marden's to go out of business. There are times in the history of any business that decisions have to be made that while painful for everyone are necessary for the survival of the company and the rest of that company's jobs. What Governor-Elect LePage realizes is that pro-growth policies will increase the pool of employers that will compete for Maine's workers.
@BeachPatriot LeTeaBag is going to create more unemployment and welfare just like all right wing policies do. With a republican controlled House & Senate he will go unpoliced and will ravage the state all for the mighty dollar! Oh, but you're fine with that. You've wanted Maine to be more like Las Vegas anyway.
@MossWaffle 4 String handmade cigar box guitar tuned to an Open G. This one was built by Brian, the fellow playing it. It is electrified, but you're hearing it totally unplugged.
thanks to all the goobers up north we have this nightmare for the immediate future or until the beans of maine wake up in a month a realize they still have to pay taxes. We will be watching....
@TessGerritsen Well, people either love us or hate us now. We have other jobs, so performing is something we rarely do in public - but that is about to change.
@TessGerritsen The website with many other songs is located under our video. Thanks for asking - we try not to be too political but this time, well, we just couldn't help ourselves.
For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of Maine. :lmao: Well, I guess there was a few times before, but to see the state finally take its' collective head out of their collective as*es is very refreshing.
@108in3d I remember Michelle Obama saying for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country, but yet, buffoon-boy above is telling us he was never proud of Maine until now. See the hypocrisy? I do! LOL
@baggaratz The line as we wrote it was originally "Goodbye minimum wage..." but we changed it to keep the song more positive and to add comic relief...
So we have hadlockslugger here, still pushing that crazy-*ssed study from Forbes, the one that says that New Jersey (!!) has a better quality of life than Maine. Shucks, that Forbes piece is a bunch of junk. If Maine is so bad for business, why is our unemployment rate better than the national average and why do 46 states have higher rates of foreclosures. You been fooled and don't come complaining when your property taxes go up to pay for cuts in state aid to the schools.
@pinestater Too much truth for the goobers, Pinestater! They won't be able to handle it, especially if they find themselves on the unemployment line early next year. :D
Thanks Guys, Good Video, I think in 4 years, people will remember you can always go more down, cuz that is where we are going, You don't one day decided your gonna turn an apple into Filet Mignon, it just doesn't work, we need to work on what Maine is, and a high industrial state we shall never be again with nowaday transportation, Just not worth doing it here.
Look around this welfare state. Where are your friends that went to UMaine with you? Working in a state that has jobs. Maine has been a blue state for generations and we are the 50th best place to run a business. I am going to open my mind and give the guy a chance. There's no where to go up up.

Funny, he's not even sworn in yet and look at all the emotions he stirs up...
I have only two words for the LePage supporters... runoff election
Paul does not currently have the support of the majority of Mainers, PERIOD.
He's gonna have to do some pretty amazing stuff to be re-elected... so we'll see...

This is brilliant. If anyone was confused about the ignorance of ruran Mainers, the "win" of LePage ought to clear up any misunderstanding.
