Somehow this game was the first real RPG I ever played and at the time I was AMAZED. (This was several years ago of course.) It was so fun! The characters are great, the battles are awesome, the story works well, and it had the right feel to it. More personable than FF, I think, and less confusing.

I wish Kratos was my 2nd dad.

HOWEVER Dawn of the new world really dissappointed me... It was too short and didnt let the player customize alot. Not even costumes ;~;

tales of Symphonia is the best game cube game i totally agree. Dawn of the new world got nothing on this game. in fact Dawn of the new world was a huge mistake When i first heard of DotNW i was excited but then when i saw the two new characters and the unfamiliar voice that came out of Lolyd mouth my soul die on the inside. if they had to make a second TOS, the story should have been about Methos and his sis, Kratos becoming an angel. let the ending be the birth of Lolyd that would be epic.

I have to say, that the symphonia series looks kinda...werid, graphicly wise. While this game (symphoina 1) looks like an oil painting, the other (DotNW) looks more like a watercolor painting...

I dont know. maybe its werid for an art maniac to care about that, but its still cool ^^

It was just due to the graphical styles that were available, this was made on the gamecube and DotNW was on the Wii. DotNW looks more like Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Symphonia looks more like Tales of the Abyss

I'd actually recommend NOT getting the second one, it kinda ruins this one. One, there's no world map, just fast traveling, and two, only one of the original voice actors came back to voice her character, Heather Hogan, the VA for Colette

My Wii for some reason fails to read GameCube discs. It starts the game up fine, but after some playing I get a disc read error. So I now have to play my Gamecube games on my old Gamecube. Which kinda sucks since there's a lot of games on the Gamecube that I still come back to play, like Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine and F-Zero GX.
