I really hope to see this in new Macs this coming year. Apple has been putting $ in to light peak and I'd assume it's to push speed and design options for them. Not to mention they may be the first company to offer this new connection.
This i can see being very cool, being able to use that port for networking i/o devices, display devices. all in 1 connector. wow. that would make intel 100x richer if they have a royalty on it like hdmi, which im sure they will.
@Exhibitionista now you do know whenever they say estimated release dates they usally delay them for another few years the soonest we would get this is at like 2013 2014
yea! and toslink has been around for 10 years. o.0 and there saying this is new technology? wow. (i know that because the ps2 which came out in 2000 had a toslink port on the back).

He said it clearly: Light Peak will be available in 2011 from OEMs.
No more USB, ethernet, DVI, HDMI, VGA etc. Just Light Peak cables. Awesome.

I'm really confused... so is it going to be this or USB 3.0? I mean didn't Intel develop both?
iTehTunePawd 2 years ago
USB 3.0 it's gonna come first.
Light Peak will eventually replace USB as well others communication systems.

Anyone who says "First" is a general practitioner of faggotry.
Really, can someone tell me the point?
Does it make your cock feel bigger to be the first to comment?
