  • light peak blah blah blah call me when everything is wireless

  • There are some problems:

You will need to know what cable is for ethernet, the cable in the ethernet port does not work work with your external HDD ;-)

  • What kind of keyboard is that?

  • I really hope to see this in new Macs this coming year. Apple has been putting $ in to light peak and I'd assume it's to push speed and design options for them. Not to mention they may be the first company to offer this new connection.

  • Why do people put intros on 3 minute videos?! Why...!!!!

  • one connector for EVERYTHING! except power THATS AWESOME!

  • @abacusasian It has both copper wires and optical fibre. It has power.

  • this is the future!

  • Holy crap who is encoding the audio this mono is so annoying get some stereo.

  • release date of light peak would be like 2013?

  • This i can see being very cool, being able to use that port for networking i/o devices, display devices. all in 1 connector. wow. that would make intel 100x richer if they have a royalty on it like hdmi, which im sure they will.

  • He said it clearly: Light Peak will be available in 2011 from OEMs.

No more USB, ethernet, DVI, HDMI, VGA etc. Just Light Peak cables. Awesome.

  • @Exhibitionista now you do know whenever they say estimated release dates they usally delay them for another few years the soonest we would get this is at like 2013 2014

and i'm guessing 2016 they will be popular?

  • It will be more like USB, ethernet, DVI, HDMI, VGA + Light Peak [:

  • @Exhibitionista by apple ;)

  • That guy looks like Andy Samberg.

  • haha, usb 3.0 is going to get push faced.

  • Bauer looks like a jigaloe

  • toslink is audio en usb is a biger port

  • Nice! I hope that get's mainstream!

  • That's Incredible

  • I'm really confused... so is it going to be this or USB 3.0? I mean didn't Intel develop both?

  • USB 3.0 it's gonna come first.

Light Peak will eventually replace USB as well others communication systems.

  • LOL, here we go with the comments about people who text first!

  • Anyone who says "First" is a general practitioner of faggotry.

Really, can someone tell me the point?

Does it make your cock feel bigger to be the first to comment?

  • i wondered that we dont had something like this on the market...

  • doesn't optical wires already exist but they are sill not in use the best example is a toslink cable

  • yea! and toslink has been around for 10 years. o.0 and there saying this is new technology? wow. (i know that because the ps2 which came out in 2000 had a toslink port on the back).

  • @Alantgv maybe the idea and the materials for using it in the pc are new but sil it is already around it for a very long time

  • yea but it is not really new technology if it has been around for 10 years.

  • USB 3.0 via Optics is certainly new technology :P

  • Freakin Brilliant.

  • WAIT WHAT

less than 10 seconds to stream a entire blueray movie AND WILL BE AVAILABLE NEXT YEAR!
