I agreed, even though I was pretty young at the time, with Castro's agrarian reform. Financial tyranny is still tyranny, and Cuba was pretty much just a whorehouse for rich Americans. Not ALL Americans, just rich ones. But, what did Castro actually do to improve things? Now Cuba is still a whorehouse but the the whores get paid a lot less.

Public schools K-12 in America are free for the students and their parents. However, we are taxed to pay for our schools. Isn't that true wherever children's education is paid for? Where does the money come from for free education in Cuba?
I don't know about health care in Cuba. If it is free, and if it is good, then I admire and respect that.
Is everything in Cuba like health care? Free and good? Is Cuba a prosperous country?

Not one fucking Iraqui was on those planes. This was a war for Iraqui oil and nothing else. Sadaam was a monster but he was keeping Iran in check. All we accomplished was to totally destabelize the area and make Iran stronger. This was the worst blunder any president has ever made and will probably take decades to undo. Bush should not only be Impeached but tried as a war criminal.

To suggest that we destabilized a totally destabilized area is kind of strange.
This is probably the most visionary action a US president has ever made and will take decades to accomplish. Bush will be remembered in history as the one who saved America and a huge monument will be built to commenorate his life, in the middle of the mall in DC.

Usually, in the past, the US only had the choice to support dictator A or dictator B. If we had interests in the area, as in oil in the middle east, we would influence which dictator would be in charge. This is all true.
What if we hadn't picked one, the least offensive one to us, what would have happened then? Would communism have grown stronger. Would the local population have been better taken care of?

I was drafted during Vietnam and forced to kill people I didn't know or had never done anything to me because we were supposedly stopping communism did that work out for us? I took a trip back there and the country was no different than when I was first there. As for other countries we could have attacked other than Iraq. Other than the taliban none,including Iraq. The bar has been lowered so low that people think war is justified if they even feel threatened by a country on the other side of the planet. Before the cloud begins to rise, you hear the explosion (It is always disappointing, sounds a little like distant thunder)from 20 miles back.
You wait for the ground swell, and you can see it coming across the desert towards you. It sort of takes the desert out of focus, like a mirage, as it progresses. Then a gentle swaying of the ground.
Truly an awesome experience.

it is covered with the blackest smoke you ever saw, which is quickly covered with a beige sand colored orb as it begins to rise from the ground. A HUGE round cloud of dust supported by a stem to the ground, yeah, like a mushroom, begins to rise. It peaks out at 4 or 5 miles high (You are looking up at a 75 degree angle) and the top of the cloud flattens out and the whole thing looks like a giant anvil in the sky.

Watching a nuclear detonation was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen. Take the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and Yellowstone National Park, and combine the sensory experience, and it pales into insignificance by comparison.
Imagine you are on a hill 20 miles back from ground zero. It is to be a quarter of a megaton shot.
