Hi there, I just got one of these machines as well. When I activate the steam button to heat the water for steaming it seems to keep dripping from the espresso portion. Does yours do that too or is there a trick?
I have had the same machine for two months now, and i was only able to get crema once. I'm very disappointed with my machine and I think im going to have to replace it as now it makes no crema at all. I have experience with all types of machines and I have never had any problems with other machines. I followed you video to the note and was only able to get a tiny amount of crema. I have also tried different Lavazza coffees with no result. Any suggestions before I go and but a new machine?
@MrKimprice Fresh ground and fine enough ground coffee can give you more crema. I ever used Lavazza and illy fine ground coffees but not get much creme either. I will suggest save money and buy a good burr grinder. So you can adjust the machine and get fine enough ground coffee that fit your machine. :)
I just got one of these machines for hella cheap. I was disappointed in the lack of crema. However I think I might check out the La Pavoni grinder your using. Nice video :-)
What a long drawn out ware of time. If I had to wait seven minutes for you to make me a shot of espresso, I'd be walking out of the door. Get on with it. If you knew what you were doing you would know how much coffee to put in the portafilter and all that tamping bull*+\t turning it.....? Rubbish! I can get the same results if not better in less less than a minute.
Every time I remove the filter holder from the machine (post brewing), the filter holder comes off but the filter keeps stuck to the brew head. Have to make extra to remove the filter from the brew head including sometimes flipping the machine.
Does anyone know why the filter sticks to the head instead of coming off with the filter holder?

Does the La Pavoni grind good enough for the rancilio silvia v3? I'm thinking about upgrading soon.

Hi there,
I use “La Pavoni zip” grinder. It is is a commercial grinder.
You can find discussion and information by google “La Pavoni zip coffeegeek”
By the way "Mazzer Super Jolly" is another popular grinder. :)

I understand what you talking about.
But the fact is this is a $49 slow heating espresso machine with heating block not the boiler,
what can you expect for?
It's good if you have a good machine and can get the heat water from cold within a minute for you.
Also I am a scientist, I used to quantify everything. Timing, temperature, volume and weight are very basic.
Anyway, I already upgraded my machine to rancilio silvia v3.
It's more better than this one. Let's enjoy the espresso.
