  • I have always loved this song. It really does tear up the stage. The Kinks fucking rock.

  • A very-very excellent live show, that the Kinks put on.

  • Great band the Kinks.

  • @ RettroDood Nice job on the video! Thanks for posting...

  • PARANOIA BIG DESTROYER!!!!!!!

  • This is terrific but I dont recall it being in the 79/80 US tour...

    SOOOO clever.

  • are they really singing or playbacking?

  • I saw the Kinks the night before I shipped off to Marine boot camp. It was one last party before 11 weeks of hell.

  • That Dave Davies guitar is ever-awesome.

  • Love it.

  • I love the audio on this one the best but the poor lighting hurts a little.

  • The 1980s ruled, for music.

  • excellent song :)

  • I was in grade 9 when my friends did an air band version of this in front of the whole school. They called themselves Men without Genitals and they totally rocked out to this song. I can still see my friend doing his best Ray Davies imitation. The song has haunted me ever since.

  • Can you say the start of a " Movement" in the stale music scene ! Every genere...thanks Ray and Dave !

  • Great Stuff=Kinks albums always had bad production..they haunt me=they rule!

  • sounds Stranglers-ish

  • it's a continuation of lola.......

  • Hmm.. I'm thinking you probably mean a continuation of "All Day and All of the Night"

  • @RettroDood yes but he goes paranoid when he brings "lola" home

  • @Colin2k41

Yes, you are right! I was thinking "All Day and All Night", because he riff is the same.

  • the Kinks need a DVD release of all their videos. That "Come Dancing" DVD that has like 6 music videos on it is not enough. No reason for this or "Father Christmas" to be left off.

  • Couldn't figure out this song for the longest time. All I coul remember pas "Paranoia big destroyer". Now I know why. Paranioa big destroyer was the only thing to remeber. The rest of the song is just like "All day and all of the night"

  • Good song....

  • fffffkin' brilliant! Ray is a true genius

  • this song remind s me of my friend Cory and his wife Cassy

  • they were definately the first to turn it up a notch and Ray Davies was a song writing machine :D

  • In the beginning, the Kinks brought heavy metal to the world, about a decade early.

They brought music hall and a touch of vaudeville to rock and roll.

Now here they are outpunking the punks.

Which leads me to conclude that they are nothing less than musicians' musicians. They are meta-musicians. They showed everybody else how to do it !

  • WELL SAID!

  • They were great...but they didn't bring heavy metal to anything. ....

  • @tekmet

They invented heavy metal with Your Really Got Me and All Day And All Of The Night. Know your history mate!

  • Not metal per say, but defiantly the power chord, even before the Who. Link Wray was really first with "Rumble" metal wise! Google him if you don't know!

  • @sbarr10 very well said my friend!!!!! Kinks F'n rock

  • Kinks have ruled for a very long time!

  • Must have been a certain kind of "rat under his bed" Dave was thinking about at 2:24. Looks so cute!

  • true godfathers of punk

  • Their tune "All Day And All Of The Night" was Hot Shit when it came out in 1964.

The Beatles were doing crap like "I Wanna Hold Your Hand".

  • fathers of punk

  • now drop and give me fifty you disgusting fatbody!

  • kinks were punkish before punk without the uglyness

  • definately. their punk had a style the 70's punks didn't capture. the 70's punks were good, but the kinks were the icons. ray & dave just had that "extra" that separates them from the others.

  • no mamen hablen en español no finjan demencia, no saben escribir en inglés como gabby9292ki no es mine too es me too, usa tu dipcionario manta

  • 2:24-what a lovely smile))lovely Dave))

  • I agree! Oh my God, he's gorgeous! :)

  • Great song and band. Love the riff and the drums. It's the same riff as in another great song by The Kinks; "All day and all of the night."

  • I LOVE the 80's

  • sweet

  • Mine, Too. I'm not a big kinks fan, but this certainly stands out. Better than "Superman."

  • THE KINKS STILL THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME, RAY DAVIES THE GREATEST SONGWRITER OF ALL TIME AND DAVE DAVIES THE MOST UNDER RATED GUITAR HERO OF ALL TIME. GOD SAVE THE KINKS AND ALL THEIR FANS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THEM OVER THE YEARS THROUGH THE HIGHS AND LOWS. THANK YOU FOR THE DAYS RAY! AND FOR ALL WE KNOW THEY STILL MAY HAVE ALONG WAY TO GO. YOU CANT STOP THE MUSIC OR THE KINKS. - Frank Lima, The Montvale, New Jersey Hillbilly Boy, aka Dan the Fan

  • Flashbacks ... seems like it was yesterday when I first heard this song. My favorite Kinks song :)

  • awesome
