  • Feck de oirish {just a crack}; this is a beautiful song!

  • the song although written by the irish is actually based in liverpool. Seth Davy lived just off scotland road in a street known as beggers bush. Sad how Liverpool has totally changed, some might say for the best because of increasing poverty which once was, but alot for the worst, most of the streets at the end of scotland road and cazneau street have now gone to make way for the merseytunnel in 1934, but canzeau street and beggers bush remained there until the 1960s, when the tunnelwas entended

  • From what I've Googled, Seth Davy was indeed a Liverpudlian and not a Dubliner. And it was Bevington Bush in Liverpool and not Begger's Bush in Dublin.

  • No, the song isn't Irish, it's English. It was written by Glyn Hughes and it is set in Liverpool where he was born.

  • Com on the irish
