Fans got into rider personal lives too much imo. All that matters is what they do on track and Kocinski was the man. I liked Aaron and felt for him with the surgery but you cannot knock the brilliance of Kocinski.

Kocinski was weird. Talented beyond doubt, sometime he look like a real threat on that Cagiva, then other times he looked lost. Same in WSB.

I don't think he was a bad guy, and team orders are a piece of sh!t anyway. I think Kocinski was just a very intense, misunderstood guy who was only fast when his head was on right. But when it was, boy was he fast.

Kocinski was a good racer, no denying that. His biggest problem was his mouth usually got in the way of his talent.

I best the Castrol Honda team were just pleased as punch that his big head got in the way of team results when the riders championship was already decided.

I remember this race well.

I can't think of any superbike rider that had more heart and guts than Aaron Slight. He's a legend. Such bad luck he never took out the title.

How shocking it was when he suffered that stroke and to his credit bounced back and returned to two and four wheels with the guts and determination he had before.
