The Spitfire at 0:56 is the Mk XIV owned by Rolls Royce that for several years ago had a tragical fatal crash at an airshow. Seemingly because the pilot made a loop too low to recover. This shot is from the making of "Battle of Britain", but never made it to the finished film. Probably because the Mk XIV differed too much from the earlier marks of Spits used in the film, with its Griffon engine and broader fin.
Of course their elegant, they're from the RAF, the greatest air force on the planet, the air force who was caught off gaurd and beat back an air force 3x as big
