It will be in the interest of the Junta to call an amnesty, legalise present builds and collect the tax revenues owing to the respective councils. Ilegal builds thereafter will be demolished. They also need to clamp down on their own corrupt officials, lawyers, architects and notarias. Purchases also need to be more aware of the legalities & the lack of it, here in spain.

They took months and months and months to build and in all that time the local politicians watched, waited and did nothing to stop constuction, took money for permissions or simply in bribes. Then when the politicians friends or relations sold and profitted from the property and they had wrung all the money possible from these scams only THEN do they decide the building must be demolished as illegal!

YES they had the correct permisions in many of the cases. Its the local councils who have reneged. Everyone's passing the buck but still they pull the properties down.
