  • MARTA ANDREASEN .IS WHAT YOU CALL A MP..I HAVE BEEN EMAILING HER NOW FOR 2 YEARS..I KNOW OF AT LEAST 1.5 MILLION HOMES IN SPAIN MAINLY ON THE COSTA BLANC WHERE EU CITIZENS FROM BRITAIN,GERMANY FRANCE SWEDEN .HOLLAND AND SPAIN.HAVE BOUGHT A HOUSE THROUGH ABOGADO/NOTARY.LAND REGISTRY.PAID FOR THEIR HOUSE, THEIR LAWYER FEES, THEIR COUNCIL TAX, AND THEN FOUND THAT THERE HOUSE THEY JUST BOUGHT IS ILLEGAL..THEY WERE TOLD THAT ONCE THE LAWYERS SIGN AND STAMP THE PROPERTY DEEDS THE HOUSE IS FULLY LEGAL

  • Muy bueno Sra Andreason.

Please feel free to speak in your mother tongue in the EP - don't feel you have to speak in English for our benefit, I'm quite happy to listen to a translator (particularly the one on this video, she sounds nice!)

  • It will be in the interest of the Junta to call an amnesty, legalise present builds and collect the tax revenues owing to the respective councils. Ilegal builds thereafter will be demolished. They also need to clamp down on their own corrupt officials, lawyers, architects and notarias. Purchases also need to be more aware of the legalities & the lack of it, here in spain.

  • Does anyone know if Zapatero took action on this case yet? Im making an assignment related to this and Im looking for more information. Some links would be very helpful. ASAP

  • Just look at Zapatero's face! What a picture, going to have to take a screenshot of that and have it as my desktop!

  • What a marvellous ornament to UKIP is Marta Andreasen ! Doing exactly what a parliamentarian should be doing ie supporting her constituents. The Spanish president took off his ear blockers when she began gabbling in Spanish ! More power to her elbow.

  • . Interesting that in 1948 the Universal declaration of Human rights was passed after the WWll to prevent the abuse of individuals and to protect their basic right to life, The Spanish Government are in breach of these basic human rights.

Its not just about who pays any compensation, it is about the basic right to freedom and life. Who has been wronged in the first instance and who is then the scape goat of the Spanish authorities..

  • Ekhsel, you appear to be misinformed on the reality of the situation reagarding the threat of the Spanish Government to demolish the homes of european nationals. The vast majority of people who are under this threat bought their homes in good faith unaware of the corrupt Spanish local government officals taking bribes from property developers to allow them to build

  • I wanted to say that Mrs Andreasen has not been in Spanish TV at all to my knowledge... they´ve masked ti I think out of shame.

  • thats funny cause ive been working for a real estate agency in the costa for a number of years, so i kinda know whats going on. nice attempt anyway, and about the spelling mistakes, well, are you 8 years old or what? ;O)

im not a psoe supporter, but on this particular matter, the more they demolish, the better, its disgusting to look at our coast and see how its been destroyed in less than 20 years.

if someone has to pay back, that should be the promotors, not our government.

  • You are a total idiot ekhsel. These houses did not appear overnight. They took months and months and months to build and in all that time the local politicians watched, waited and did nothing to stop constuction, took money for permissions or simply in bribes. Then when the politicians friends or relations sold and profitted from the property and they had wrung all the money possible from these scams only THEN do they decide the building must be demolished as illegal!

  • @ekhsel

How do you have the gall to comment on other peoples spelling mistakes when your own grammer is so bad! You admit that you have been a Real Estate Agent on the Costa's for a " number of years" I wonder how many "Illegal" homes YOU have sold and taken the money and run. You are typical of the many "brain dead" idiots we come across in Spain who think we knew the homes were illegal, if we did know we would have run a mile from robbing b******s like yourselves. Get a life!!

  • Ekhsel, I can only imagine that the only reason you have chosen to comment on an issue which you evidently have NO idea of it's facts and background, is because you simply have nothing better to do. Maybe you could learn to spell? It may help to focus your retarded mind. Let's start with 'demoloshing'.

  • Who the hell is this ignorant pillock ekhsel? British people came to Spain, hired solicitors, checked all the correct paperwork and bought the houses in good faith. YES they had the correct permisions in many of the cases. Its the local councils who have reneged. Everyone's passing the buck but still they pull the properties down. If the Government cocks up, they should pay the compensation. So find out whats happening ekhsel before shooting your gob off. Well done Andreasen.

  • "we dont speak spanish, they lied to us"... "who lied to you?"... "oh, we went to that agency, with this nice british fellow Mark Mccheater who sold us the house, you know?"... im full of all these retard stories, the speculation in some parts of Spain as the costa del sol its not only the promotors fault, cause when i buy something illegal, i know it is illegal, unless im fu**ng retard, and retards, no matter if they are brits or spaniards, deserve what they get.

  • Comment removed

  • I find your language offensive and in particular the use of the term "retard" since this implies that you are refering to people who have some kind of learning impairment , which I am sure is not the case. I myself am the owner of such a property, I am also the father of a child born with learning difficulties. Your attitude, particularly as you have been involved in the sale of property in Spain is reprehesible, I think perhaps it would be better had you been put down at birth.

  • @PartyInterested Puttin people down at birth. That sounds pretty nice, and not offensive at all.

    Take care

  • Dear da dumb says: Hello fellas. I bought this house right in the seashore of a beatiful spanish town, with no permissions, but hey, i paid for it, so why are these cheeky spaniards guys demoloshing it? House in the sand, cheap, no permits, huhu, i mean, they are very mean, these guys.

and now seriously, how can someone expect to buy something in the f+++ng sand, with no permits, for a ridiculous price and yet think that its all legal? oh yes, i know...

  • zapatero con los cascos, eso si que es elegancia chapó ZP

  • As a long time resident in Spain, I can only support Mrs Andreasen position............ people that has bought in good fate, cannot have their property demolished....... they should wait until ALL is settled.

  • zapatero is the ruin of spain.

  • I'm Spanish and support those British affected by this act of robbery. Zapatero has converted the Spanish state in a criminal state. Nobody is safe under Zapatero's regime, whether Spanish or foreigners. Who can live with this level of legal insecurity?.

  • Thank you so much Marta. We have finally found someone who has the courage to speak out for us, and help us through our plight. Shame on Zapatero for not stepping in to help he can shake hands with Gordon Brown.

    Well done Marta!

  • Thank you Marta, you were a star for all of us that are living this nightmare in Spain. He looked like he was completely astonished by what you said, but the truth really hurts and lets see if he will really do something about it !!

  • Mr, Bean attack, from Madrid, este señor es un calamidad que está llevando a España a la ruina, el agujero de Europa.

  • A very brave lady - she is physically shaking as she delivers her presentation - outlining the plight of many - well done !

  • Thank you, thank you Marta Andreasen!!! There are so many of us - not only Brits - who bought Spanish property - being granted building licences, employed Spanish lawyers, Spanish architects approved by the College of Architects, paid taxes etc - only now to be threatened with our homes being illegal and demolition. Thank you again Marta, and to the UKIP party.

  • I never knew she was Spanish. Shes one of my favorite UKIP members

  • In fact she lives in Barcelona, not UK

  • Come on guys , get real.

This is a very serious problem that will, if the Junta allows it, damage for many years the purchasing of homes in Spain by foreigners and Spanards alike

  • As a Spanish, I'm ashamed to have this man as a PM. He will make the fool of himself during his presidency, and thank god there are people like Marta Andreasen, ready to tell him the uncomfortable truth.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! Poor Zapatero, he's totally astonished by the speech of this evil, evil woman, who is trying to threaten and destroy his fairy tale world!

    ZParo vete ya!!!

  • ya te queda poco, señor zapatero, ya te queda poco para salir con helicoptero de españa, sinverguenza, mentiroso, demagogo de los cojones!

  • le tiembla la mano a Marta, no?

  • thank you Marta - we are one of the people involved - I only hope you are able to carry through the actions of the European Parliament.

  • leave it up to the american media .... i have no clue what she is talking about thanks cnn msnbc abc fox and alike for not reporting about this

  • I hope he gets the message soon, but somehow I doubt he will.

  • ¡Tienes razón, Marta!

  • muy bien, que sepa eso !

  • Very well said Marta, there are dozens of people suffering all over Europe, not just in Spain from problems around buying houses abroad. In the old days, Britain would stand up for its own citizens.

  • Hey Britainb1st ( such a patriotic nick), I am glad that things are to be resolved in the European parliament and not by sending the "home fleet" to put things "straight". I concur this is something that NEEDS to be settled............ but. what are you asking for? An invasion? Want to send a few destroyers to settle down? Mrs Andreasen does well, claim into his face in front of the European parliament.

  • no PanzonTube, strong diplomacy - hence the reason why there are embassies all over the world, to protect the interests of Britons - not the government and big business.

  • PanzonTube--

The European Parliament exists so the different states can make sure they protect each other from the honest outrages of their thievery.

Whistle-blowers who have found all kinds of chicanery in the EU Parliament have been ignored and/or punished.

  • Britain1st--

In the "old days" the UK would have sent TROOPS to stop this crap, as would the rest of Europe.

This is precisely the sort of malaise that is wrecking so much of this earth.

  • Thank you UKIP dont give up.
