When I first walked around here it just felt serene, like you entered a perfect world after everything gradually got darker and darker with every new level you unlocked. Like you got rewarded for the challenges you faced on the way here to this mesmerizing place. I felt safe. :')

Then I walked up the tombstone and HOLYJEZUS everything goes to HELL.

I will never forget this, it was fantastic! :D

Oddly enough what came to mind before even really going anywhere here was, suddenly thinking, "am I playing Sonic Adventure again?" The area looked so much like the Mystic Ruins of the past. It even has the whole start from the mouth of a cave thing going for it!

Just realized, the "birds" you hear in the background loop. They enter, go for about 2 seconds, cut out. And repeat. And there are areas where you can hear a bit of skipping...

Yes, possibly one of the old espers traped him in that monument (espers are a secret society in phantasy star 4 and in one the images we can see a magician traping falz in the monument)

It's not a illusion, falz was traped in that monument by a esper (old organization from phantasy star 4), they sealed him on that place, it existed even before falz was there, they sky existed, the birds existed, everything was real.

It's definitely underground. Why would you be on the surface if Falz JUST got strong enough by taking Rico's body? Plus the broken Pioneer 1 stuff in the next few scenes helps support that. Falz was just messin' with your head. (It's what he does...)

It's an illusion. Even the music hints to that. I don't know WHY it's an illusion, but it's certainly not real. In the music, the birds chirping sounds like it's on an old record and it keeps scipping, like something is obviously trying to trick you.

But underground? Why? I believe it's supposed to be the death site of Pioneer 1, which was not underground, but in a dome.

And the second part, where you fight him isn't an illusion, and you can see the sky there.

Well if you think about it, throughout the stages in PSO1 you kept going deep underground and Rico's messages conveyed that this area was located in a spaceship that was buried deep underground by the civilization of another planet that sent it to Ragol, so unless the boss portal led to an area above ground instead of an underground illusion created by Dark Falz, I would think that it'd be underground. I could be really wrong though, considering there's a sky and all.

yep, there is a sky and at the end of each area you get 1 final warp that will lead you to the boss arena, so basicly the warp can trasport you to the survice.
