  • you atheists need to stop being arrogant and actually think about what he is saying. He makes a to of interesting points. You guys should be open minded sometimes.

  • this is interesting : )

  • What would Turek say about the indigenous peoples who are polytheists. What about the Hindus? How can he say everyone knows there is one god?

  • Comment removed

  • what an idiot

  • Evolution and Darwinism are strog arguments? Really?

  • why is he shouting?

  • Everybody knows there is a creator god? Frank, you need to do a little more research. There are those of us who don't believe in the supernatural.

  • @Hornadayfan You do know this is a christian program, He was talking to Christians.

  • Dr. Frank Turek > Richard Dawkins

  • @narco73 There is overwhelming evidence for the Christian God. My channel has ~500 videos reviewing the evidence. See the !Why be a Christian playlist for a summary of the best evidence or other playlists (creation-evidence for the flood, video #1 is a really good one) or ask me about which topic you want to see evidence for.

  • wow frank is on point about this

  • Wow, such design. Less than 99,999999999999999% of the universe can harbor life. What a fucking retard that Frank, he should just die or have his mouth stitched close.

  • @jlmdfnbo Typical atheist. Lots of name calling, cursing and insults, but no argument. Guys, if you have an argument, bring it! If you have proof, show it! Any idiot can curse and call names, but get you some evidence for your side and just bring it!!

  • @baldarmydad Insults are not exclusively given by atheists. Christians do their fair share too, even their holy book insults non believers.

Jlm did offer an argument (although he worded it wrong)

You have displayed a misunderstanding. Most that call themselves atheist are just saying that they believe theists have not met their burden of proof. That is a claim that does not require its own proof.

There is no reasonable evidence that I am aware of for the Christian god. Do you have some?

  • @narco73 Neither rational thought nor science demand 100% conclusive proof of everything, esp. historical things. We look at the evidence and see which view has the most evidence and follow that. Atheism has no evidence and much that supported it in the past has been debunked as pseudoscience. By far the most logical thing is to follow Christianity since it built modern civilization, esp. modern science, concepts of human rights, education, health care facilities, and more+having MUCH evidence.

  • @TruthIsLife7 I wasn't asking him for 100% proof. I said I am unaware of any reasonable evidence for the Christian god.

It wouldn't matter if christianity did all these things you listed (and btw. it stood in the way of many of these things, in may ways society managed to develop them despite christianity), it would make no difference as to whether it was true or not.

  • One question for Christians... Lucifer was expelled from Heaven because he sinned, and reigns in Hell as God's enemy, right? So if you do good, you go to Heaven and live in eternal nirvana, if you do bad and sin, you go to hell and be punished for all eternity. Just exactly why, if Satan is God's enemy, would Satan punish you in hell. You've helped him out. He'd probably buy you a beer. As long as it isn't warm though, I've heard it's hot down there. I'm off to get a hooker, beer and a joint.

  • @duckey365 Satan does not punish you in hell, hell is the punishment. He is punished right along with you.

  • I love how Christians ask for the Bible to be taken literally when it suits them and have a penchant for taking Atheist's words out of context, like Turek has done with Dawkins here.

  • @duckey365 example?

  • Moral???

  • I love Frank Turek. One Love. Jah Bless!

  • @ Frank Turek, WHy aRe you YEllling at me?!

  • Frank Turek,

American as that plasticene cheese product that is sold in bulk.

As christian as the fecal matter that hold banners outside military funerals.

As logical as the church fathers that idenified their savior as three gods in one.

As hateful as those that condemn other humans based on their sexual orientation.

As big a dick head as a rapist that feels entitled to their "prey".

It's not hyperbole kiddies. What this guy exposes is hurtful and demeaning.

  • This guy is either incredibly dishonest or incredibly stupid. I am flabbergasted by the weakness of his arguments, its truly quite incredible. The sad thing is, that the people in the audience probably haven't read Dawkins, or Hawking or anything relevant to what he is talking about, so they probably accept it.

I suppose this phenomena explains why there are so many people on you tube that have no idea what they are talking about.

  • @narco73 I'm not trying to insult your intellignce and neither is God. Narco73 having a certain level of intelligence can't prove if God's truths/ways are wrong or right. Maybe i'm not understanding you? Can you explain in greater detail, what you mean by insulting intelligence?

  • @cyrilsalvant The idea of "choosing to go to hell" makes no sense. People that try to pull that argument on you have to assume you are an idiot if they expect you to buy it.

  • @narco73 how so? If you reject God the alternative is hell. Its a choice. God gave you free will. Acquiesce to God or don't. He doesn't force you to accept him. If he did force you then you would be no different than a robot programmed to perform a task. Love is a willing act of the heart or it is not sincere. God knows and judges the heart. So either you choose God, acquiesce to him, or you go to the outer darkness. Your choice.

  • @imbiased Nobody chooses to go to hell. I don't believe in god. I don't choose to go to hell.

On another subject: How can you even say "he doesn't force you to accept him" and in the same paragraph say "If you reject god the alternative is hell"???

  • @narco73 Its pretty simple. Rejection is a choice. If you reject something there is an alternative.

The alternative to the light is is the dark.

  • @imbiased I'm still surprised everytime I hear a religious person express how brainwashed they are.

Imagine: You start up a store. A mafia thug comes in and says you have to pay him 1000 dollars a month protection money, otherwise your shop will be burnt down, your wife raped and you will be shot in the head. If you don't pay, did you choose to have your wife raped? Or if you do pay, was it a free choice?

If you reject something there is an alternative. The alternative to light is dark..

  • Interesting bible quote he brought up:

"Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man.."

Sounds suspiciously like it is disapproving of the concept a human (like Jesus) being a deity..

  • the thing about multiple universes is that its impossible to know where one stops and another starts..afterall its just billions of galaxies messing around in the cosmos... people are just uptight about their world views

  • this asshole is a first class quote miner!!!

  • Besides Kent Hovind, they dont come any dumber then this guy.

  • If your really seeking the truth God will lead you. :) He will. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.

  • And finally people, God isn't a bad God. He loves us thats why he sent his son to save us, to give us eternal life. Why can't we know him? How come we don't think that there is a God? Especially if God has given us the bible? People I challenge you to find a bible to pick it up and read it and see for yourself.

  • @cyrilsalvant What bizarre comment you made. I challenge you to pick up a bible, read it, then come back here and say "God isn't a bad God" once more.

You also said humans run away from god? How does that work? When people are about 8 years old they tend to run away form the tooth fairy too. Is that what you mean?

  • @narco73 I have read the Bible and I can see how many may think that God is unjust. Especially reading the Old Testament. But, we must remember no matter what God does he is God. Not us. Our ways are not his ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. God cannot stand evil and sin. Thats why he had the Israelites clear out the land. Some God spared with mercy others he did not. And I am sure he had a reason for it. God may do things we may not understand.

  • @narco73 No, not like the toothfairy. When I mean run, I mean hiding from God. (Not acknowleging him, not wanting anything to do with him) If we say we want to know God or that we know him. Then we have to accept all that he is. The loving side of God and the Just side. Because remember God cannot allow sin in his presence because thats not who he is, thats why he sent Jesus.

Narco read - Isaiah 55: 8-11 and Romans 9:15 for better answers from the bible regarding your previous question

  • @cyrilsalvant Saying "gods thoughts are higher than our thoughts" does not justify the actions attributed to him in the bible. In the old testament he is the epitome of evil.

And then in the new testament, it's even worse. Whereas previously people used to be able to escape any horrors they had in life, now god chases them past death and commits them to an eternity of suffering. Could you possible think of anything more evil?

  • @narco73 No God is a God of love everything God has done has been for our protection and very life. God is God and who are we to say what he should and should not do? Or that he should have did something a certain way? Thats why he is called God. I'm sorry that you feel that God is evil or whatever but that the last thing he is evil. Again, somethings God may do we may never understand. God isn't looking for our approval of his actions. He doesn't need it.

  • @narco73 He does commit us to eternal suffering, we choose it by our free will. Just like we may chose not to believe in him. You have that choice. But, he sent Jesus to bring us life. Verse John 10;10 Jesus said, I came that you may have life and have it to the fullest. So its our choice either to accept his death for our sins and gift of eternal life or not to.

  • @cyrilsalvant BTW. Nobody chooses to go to hell. That is just people trying to insult your intelligence by twisting words.

  • @narco73 God does things to keep us from harm. I don't know if you have a child or not but lets say you do for a moment. If your child tried to walk out into the street would you not stop him and tell him no? And after, if he tries it again, would you just let him/her walk out into the street? Or would you decipline him/her and stop him/her once more?

  • @cyrilsalvant I don't understand your point. God does things to keep us from harm, like ordering genocide for instance. Or setting up a system where the majority of people go to hell. It doesn't add up.

  • Belief in God isn't a "religion" or a "superstition." Its acknowledging the fact that God is God overall. That he created everything that exists and that Jesus Christ his son came to save us. Jesus didn't come to start a "religion." He came to seek and to save that which was lost. The lost are those who don't know God and Jesus and don't accept Christ's sacrifice.

  • Some of you may comment later and say. " I don't believe in God." Well to me your just proving God's word true. Romans 1:20-23 Because if you knew God or would want to truly know him you wouldn't say that.

  • Why do we as humans continue to run away from God? Is it because of fear? Judgement? Hatred towards God. or is it because we simply want to what we want to do? But, no matter what the reason God has written evidence about him on our hearts. For those who know Jesus and God's word it makes sense. The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18.

  • Another ceationist asshole? Havent seen this guy yet.

  • "Everybody knows that there is a creator God." Hey Turek, you got a mouse in your pocket?

  • Ok, let us assume that these arguments really proove that there is a creator. So now we have to believe in Yahwe? An iron age - hebrew god? The bible applies that god is a condradicting, cruel, unjust, genocidal, insecure character, who punishes people who didn't obey and submit to his rules with eternal torment. I could go on and on, but i hope you get the point.

  • Why does thus man always sound like a car salesman?

  • I suppose there's a rather wry irony in the fact that I misspelled the word 'educated' in my previous post. I'll now write it out a hundred times!

  • I came to this video having watched Turek get destroyed, hands down, by Hitchens in a debate. I wanted to see if his weak performance versus Hitchens was nerves, or lack of preparation, or illness. But no, he really IS that ignorant of basic science. OR he's incredibly astute and pretending to be ignorant because it makes him a lot of money out of poorly-eduacted, lonely, gullible and frightened people. This video is really quite frightening.

  • new anti-science religious fundamentalism that is seeking to throw this nation backwards =common atheist paranoid comment

  • @SuperTruthlover There is no paranoia, atheists dont believe in a "christian conspriacy" they way you think there is an atheist one. Anti-science religious fundamentalism is real, as evidenced by this video

  • @genero

Just because you are a paranoia atheist does not mean there are not people who will call your postion stupid and illogical.

after all you hold you position without a bit of evidence or proof you are correct as far as I understand. maybe I am wrong

Atheism is an intellectual position. What reasons do you have for holding that position? Your reasons are based upon logic and/or evidence or lack of it. So, is there any reason/evidence for you holding your position that you defend?

  • @SuperTruthlover "Atheism is an intellectual position. What reasons do you have for holding that position?"

Atheism is perfectly defensible purely from epistemic arguments. Faith is not a path to truth. I value truth, therefore I need evidence to adopt beliefs. With regards to gods, no evidence that has merited belief has been presented. This justifies lack of belief in gods on mental hygiene grounds.

  • @SuperTruthlover Stronger positions, such as affirming the opposite of theism, "God does not exist", can only be done with regards to specific god concepts that are logically contradictory or falsifiable. The confused nature of the word "God" makes it close to a synonym of "something" unless it's qualified. I'd generally dismiss unfalsifiable god definitions as meaningless and I have never heard of a logically coherent and falsifiable definition of god that has not also been falsified.

  • @SuperTruthlover "Just because you are a paranoia atheist does not mean there are not people who will call your postion stupid and illogical."

That's evidence that there are people who are stupid and illogical. =) Seriously. In a world with 10s of thousands of denominations of various superstitions, that's not much of an argument. Virtually all humans are wrong about their god belief by logical necessity. Atheism urges conservative acceptance of beliefs - this is obviously an improvement.

  • @Gnomefro 10s of thousands of denominations of various superstitions, that's not much of an argument???

there are about 5 religion or 6 if you count atheism that 98% of the people hold to so why the embellishment? never mind I already know

    .TELL ME

Atheism is an intellectual position. What reasons do you have for holding that position? Your reasons are based upon logic and/or evidence or lack of it. So, is there any reason/evidence for you holding your position that you defend?

  • So Dawkins would say that the very house he lives in had a builder, or creator, but the universe doesn't? Really Dawkins? Really?

  • @spacitydrummer4JC Yes really. If you think everything that exists always needs a creator then who creates the creator? Somewhere along the line a creator has to come from nowhere. So you could say that a creator came from nowhere, and then triggered the big bang, or you could drop that assumption and take the simpler explanation that the big bang came from no where.

  • Quote mining anybody?

  • This guy is a DR? Jesus......

  • Turek is maybe only a step above Hovind in terms of faggotry.

  • Anybody out there who's never heard of bigfoot? No, everybody knows there's a bigfoot.

  • This is awesome. I love how he explains that physical matter couldn't have created the universe because everything in the physical world that we live in was created, whether you believe in evolution or God. But then you come to the conclusion that the physical world had to have been created by something BEYOND the physical. So what does that leave us with?

  • "Anybody out there who's never heard of God? No, [conclusion] everybody knows there's a creator God" The very first thing he says is bollocks!

  • something outside the universe can be ANOTHER NATURE... not god

  • @unprofessionalvids There is no evidence for this. Don't you see how much faith it takes to believe that? And what natural laws of nature would cause our universe to explode into being? Come on man...follow the evidence. Don't rule out the supernatural before you look at the evidence and where it leads.

  • @unprofessionalvids nature itself had a beginning, therefore it had a cause. so if there was another nature, then it too would also have a cause, again, leading to the same situation as before.

  • Comment removed

  • Wanna see Turek's confidence sucked right out of him? Check out his debate vs Christopher Hitchens.

  • This man doesn't know what he's talking about, and he doesn't seem to have read the whole book (let alone others on the subject) through. If he has, he's missed the fact that Dawkins slams him right back in whole chapters. Read the chapter about "the science of gaps" and you'll see how beautifully dr. Turek fits into the description.

"how incredibably designed universe is" he says, but while this it's true that it may appear so, saying that is "is" is simply wrong. This critique is not serious.

  • I love reading the comments on here. Just as it says in John Men really do love the darkness instead of light. Even with all the bashing going on no one has commented on another possible solution to Frank's main argument that is verified by modern science about the universe's existence. Not one alternative. You're all blinded.

  • turek is a moron he twisted everything.

even so if nothingness was before the big bang and everything as to have a cause well god is nothingness cause god most have a cause to exist

  • @mystisme The Judeo-Christian theist's claim has never been that God is "nothingness," rather, He is eternal, timeless, and immaterial; therefore, He does not need a cause, otherwise he wouldn't be eternal.

Turek's point is that in order for a material universe to come from nothing, there must be a force that is immaterial, eternal, and timeless. We happen to call this being God. William Lane Craig explains this position pretty well in his debates.

  • @ebeatworld

"there must be a force that is immaterial, eternal, and timeless. "

    Baseless assertion.

"William Lane Craig explains this position pretty well in his debates."

    Craig is an uneducated buffoon.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Ha. "Baseless assertion." The universe itself is material; thus, had a beginning, at which point time itself was created. That's not a baseless assertion, is it? Please tell me, how can the cause of the universe be anything but immaterial, eternal, and timeless?

"Craig is an uneducated buffoon." I suppose holding two Ph.D's is uneducated by your standard.

I also find it funny that you atheists can't resist adding ad hominem attacks in every one of your comments.

  • @ebeatworld

"The universe itself is material; thus, had a beginning"

We don't know that. All we know is that the current observable universe was once very small, dense and hot.

"suppose holding two Ph.D's is uneducated by your standard."

Ph.D's are useless once you make a career in apologetics. Plus, his are in philosophy and, even worse, theology, which are pretty useless studies to begin with. They don't prevent Craig from realizing that his Kalam argument is bogus.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer We don't know that the universe had a beginning? Nope. Actually, we do. The scientific community pretty much universally agrees on this. So don't go off and accuse ME of being the one who is anti-science, as you atheists often do to theists. Honestly, you're the "uneducated" one if you don't know this.

And if you want to discredit a Ph.D in philosophy, then go ahead. Screw Aristotle.

Btw, Craig has just as much of a career in apologetics as Hitchens does.

  • @ebeatworld

"The scientific community pretty much universally agrees on this."

The scientific community agrees about the Bing Bang. Whether it's the real cause of the universe, we don't know. You might delve into the Multiverse hypothesis, for instance.

And Ph. D. in philosophy has zero scientific standing. It amounts to the same as having a degree in scratching your nose.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Multiverse hypothesis has been debunked in recent years. I'm telling you -- you don't have to believe me if you don't want -- but most scientists agree that the universe had a beginning. Matter, energy, space, and time cannot be infinite in the past. This is according to the laws of physics.

And you obviously don't know what philosophy is. It's actually an amazing field of study of how logic works. You might not like it, but it doesn't mean Craig is uneducated.

  • @ebeatworld

"Multiverse hypothesis has been debunked in recent years"

Of course it hasn't. It's a hypothesis that hasn't be totally proven true, but it certainly has not yet been debunked. There's also Smolin's hypothesis of cosmological natural selection. It just goes to show that cosmologists are working on the question of what caused the Big Bang itself.

"you obviously don't know what philosophy is."

    It certainly isn't science.

  • There's a word 'zombie' and most people have heard the word. Therefore zombies exist?

  • You sir are a moron. You will live out your days trapped in a pathetic delusion. You stop short of fully explaining any scientific concept to your sheep for fear they'll smarten up and come to their senses. You do your flock an injustice with this snake oil charlatan act... Please people, for the good of our world, do your research and seek the answer out for yourself. You owe it yourself to know the truth.

  • Ehhm no everybody knows that there is a word God(Which isn't true by the way).

  • The old christian trick: Make me feel bad. Tell me that only Christ can make it all better. Tell me how to "obey God".

As if God is a fact, as if we can know God's will. as if the Bible (or any other 'holy" book) is absolutely true, as if God knows everything, as if humanity means nothing and God means everything. This is dishonest straw-man argument.

  • It takes 20 seconds to point out just how ridiculous this all is.

"His invisible qualities are clearly seen." Said from any non-religious source this would be dismissed as ridiculous. invisible is seen?

Try "Everybody knows there are ghosts and unicorns." ...but somehow everybody 'knows" that there is a creator God. Clearly Turek doesn't know the meaning of "know."

  • - obey god + love god + worship god

    - or god will torture you all day every day for trillions of years in a torture chamber named hell

    - but this specific god is the most forgiving/loving/caring/etc god possible (according to the christians and muslims)

  • @JazistheGreatest Notice that he didn't mention one of those things in this video. Maybe you should respond to what he was saying in this video rather than to something that has nothing to do with what he was talking about.

  • God is certainly made!! By man!!

  • God is certainly made!! By man!!

  • Heard of god yes. There is a "creator god"? No.His invisible qualities are clearly seen? That's rubbish.

"We suppress the truth." Yes. Creationist/christian types in megachurches tend to do that. Atheists aren't suppressing anything. We are rejecting your claim.

Quoting the bible doesn't save you now.

    Quoting mining won't help either...

Ouch. Those are some braincells I would like back please.

Wow. Those are a lot of things he has to account for knowing.

  • The amount of evidence cannot make a person believe.

It is free will. But every choice leads to consequences.

  • It is either a fact or mere opinion....nothing to something...is something to think about heh~~ :P

  • "he's suppressing the truth", "he's suppressing the obvious", this guy almost said something true. if only he had replaced "he" with "I"

  • this middleman for god is educated in the arts of people's cash... they do this for money and a fake ass job ... not for anything REAL... maybe there is a GOD... but who are these people to talk anything regarding such a being... Can anyone here tell me what someone else is going to think.... NOPE! and this person thinks HE knows something about the ULTIMATE athiest (GOD)... he just qouted that men have darkened hearts and contradicated himself by talking about a being he has no clue about!...

  • Genesis 1:27

  • I still cringe when I see the term "Bright." I'm glad that hasn't caught on.

And I don't think that there's a more frustrating human universal than self-deception, except maybe the inability to deal with uncertainty. This is a pretty typical example. =/

  • ROFL, i love when he says

"his invisible qualities are clearly seen"

damn gods invisibility cloak must have gotten dirty and needs a wash.

  • WoW!

    Some serious quote mining there!

  • USA...hello it´s 2010. Leave the dark ages and joine the rest of the free world.

  • He may want to keep up with his 1970's science. There are only 3 forces. Why people like him and Craig insist on trying to use science baffles me.

  • ahh the old "we don't know how everything is created so god did it" crap again.

"what must be the uncaused first cause ? a supernatural cause" you sound like a retard in a ghostbusters uniform frank

  • Atheists will never be satisfied. Every single question they throw at us, we have answered. And the only thing we get back is being called ignorant and stupid. How childish of you atheists! Everything in science proves the Bible time and time again. The Bible has NEVER been proven wrong. But atheists are never satisfied. Fine, you people can stay close minded if you want. But the bottom line is, when you die or when Christ returns, you can find out for yourselves who is right..

  • What keeps these universes from colliding with each other? What a hilariously stupid question! (What keeps the four dimensions of this universe from colliding with each other?)

  • what a liar... bright was coined by dennett.. and he said theists be called supers.. as in supernatural - he obviously didn't fucking read it, or he's just a dishonest jerk

  • Another moron with a pulpit.

  • Did he die?

  • this guy's horrible use of mathematical terms makes me cringe as a theoretician >.<

  • Love how he dismisses alternative universes because of "there's no evidence for it" Yet he believes in GOD???

  • The truth hurts, I know.

  • ...... e.e can someone give the date for which this appeared on Comedy Central. I cant find it because it was cancelled after one episode for being rated "B" for bullshit. >_>

  • more bullshit

  • Turek looked like a screaming, blithering, angry, deceitful fool in his debate with Hitchens, which is available on YT.

  • What a fruit loop.

  • Atheism is default, a lack of a belief. Atheism makes no claims about absolute truth or fact like religion does, and therefore requires no faith.

  • Atheism is simply open-mindedness and common sense. Everyone is born an atheist. Live and let live.

  • What a load of lies, he never suggested 'Brights'...

There is NO evidence for a creator... Religion is willful ignorance, this man proves my point.

  • this is how you argue when you know all the answers. What a twit.

  • Mostr certainly a nutter. I mean all this work in the name is misinformation...undermining everything a reasoned future society values. What a shame.

  • There is no need for a creator. Religion disproved in one simple sentence.

  • Dr frank.....Hmmmmm? Same PhD as hovind perhaps?

  • Wow. Mr. Turek, you're so smart you know everything. Especially, that Richard dawkins made up the word "brights" not Daniel Dennet. And then you go on to say that Richard Dawkins has no idea how the universe began and in the same breathe you say he believes it came from nothing. Anyone with half a brain listening to you can tell you're full of it up to your eyeballs. But then again the people you preach to don't have half a brain.

  • This guy is annoying as hell.

    Lol @ DarwinsChihuahua.

    Oh, and rocks don't dream.

  • Like all godmongers, this comprehensively ignorant man thinks that volume is an acceptable substitute for logic when he talks about his unsupported myths. Utter codswallop.

  • Actually, there is no god.

  • The Christian God or the Theory of the Multiverse? Falsest. Dichotomy. Ever.

  • In so many ways, Frank seems to be an intelligent and reasonable guy.

What I do not understand is the need to attempt a connection of a Creative Source to The Asshole of The Bible.

Actually, no. Not "connect". Rather: Synonymous - the same thing!

    Better hope not.

  • No atheist can come to Jesus unless the Father has chosen, then called him to come.

  • What a fuckin retard, I am so losing patience with creationists. All these years they have held back humanity is disgusting.

    Pathetic brainwashed people.

  • To be angry at false religion is normal, but because religions use the Bible does it disprove it? Revelation 17 prophecies the destruction of false religion(Babylon The Great). Who is Babylon The Great? The woman who fornicates with governments and corporations. So Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims etc..., and they all get attacked because God allows it. Yes even religions professing to come in the name of the Bible will be destroyed, but doesn't this prove the accuracy of the Bible?

  • On what grounds would a religion be classified as false? They all lack evidence and credibility to be considered factual. Scripture in several religions is very vague and open to arbitrary interpretation.

And when one chooses not to be fed ambiguous bullshit and searches for answers they are instructed to regress to the ignorance of a divine creator or regress to the need for faith and that we can't understand a divine plan or other redundant garbage.

Its all a waste of time and life.

  • According to atheists all life is worthless and a waste. Evolutionists? Do they provide answers? They provide theory, there is no difference other than one attempts at proving there is a reason we are alive, and the other does its best to tell people there is no reason. In the end the one impossible to prove fact is that life cannot come from nothingness. No matter what you believe there must be faith in things we cannot understand.

  • You still haven't answered the question of what makes one religion more accurate or true over another...

Where are you getting the idea that atheists think life is all worthless and a waste? I'm atheist and don't agree with that at all and know many others would object as well. By believing this may be the only life we have is actually somewhat of a refreshing wake up call to live it to your fullest instead of living in the hallucinated fantasy world most religions (not all) induce.

  • Another thing evolutionists fail to explain coherently is the missing knowledge from generations past. The Sumerians, Mayans and others knew things about our universe we are still learning today. If evolution is about advancement, and the constant refining of life, how did we regress? I don't care what you believe, it's a right of every individual on earth, but don't kid yourself by believing all answers have been answered by science.

  • You seem confused on what evolution actually is. Evolution is a theory explaining the diversity of life, why would it give you purpose to your life, moreover, why would you look to evolution for a reason to be alive? That is a personal decision one should make as they mature, not one that should be imposed on someone with the rewards & threats of heaven and hell by some priest that pretends to be righteous but is really a closet homosexual or juggles kids balls b/c of years of sexual surpression

  • The fossil record shows that life was much more diverse than it is now. Evolution does not explain the regression in diversity. Evolution is the theory that life evolved after it somehow showed up from nowhere. So life came from nowhere, and evolution explains everything after that. The fossil record also shows that multiple life forms showed up at once very far along in the evolutionary process, almost like they were created!

  • You are right that there are specific questions that can't be answered yet... but if you decide to have faith in what is not fully understood, why chose the path of ignorance in interpreting desert scribblings and praying to a space santa instead of logical, testable ideas and facts.

And if you must believe in a god, what gives the christian god precedence over other gods and religions?

  • I agree with you. Religion has been very destructive, and continues to show itself as immoral and blood guilty. Should atheists believe in religious teachings because they are told they will go to hell? Of course not. My personal beliefs rely on evidences I have found in the Bible that it has prophesied things with great accuracy, and everything happening in the world right now has been written down already. Governments will distance themselves from religions, and people will destroy them.

  • @cddorcast1

The Sumerians, Mayans and others knew things about our universe we are still learning today.

    ???

Can you name ONE single thing they knew that we don't ?

Just ONE single thing ( beside fucking llamas from behind - that is).

All the answers we already know ( and, still searching) ARE answered by science. Is there any alternative?

Can you imagine a normal, civilized man A.D. 2010 - who knows how to read and write - asking god for an answer to his/her question?

  • Sumerians knew the makeup of the Solar System... somewhere along the line that knowledge was lost and people for a time thought the earth was flat, they also tell of another planet Nibiru(We can tell there are more planets because of the pull on Pluto shows this yet we are unsure if we have found this). We discovered they were right only this century. The Mayans had a calendar too complex for us to understand, yet they could foretell eclipses to exact dates thousands of years in advance.

  • 1. Sumerians believed that the universe consisted of a flat disk enclosed by a tin dome.

    2. They had several types of calendars over the period of millenniums. Each of them showed different lengths of years or, months or agricultural seasons. Now, that's a high standard of precise, common knowledge. It's not like our timers, nowadays - one, universal, lousy calendar with the precisions to 1/1000 of a second. Fuck that.

  • 3. Mayan calendars.

When the Spaniards landed in 16th.century in central America and found those stone carved calendars - the Mayans were making the big eyes. They had no idea where these things came from and, what these things are. It applies as well to these incredible pyramids and the stone cities ( structures ?) in there. They simply lived among these constructions ( just the chosen elite).

The real mystery though, is Peru and its stone civilization. That's where the real fun begins.

    ?

Just make sure they are your PERSONAL and nothing more.

Tell me your personal beliefs and I'll tell you who you are.

    2. Governments will distance themselves from religions, and people will destroy them.

Excusez moi ??? Are you from this century, pal ?

  • As far as I can tell, your parents created you, not a god...haven't you ever taken sex education, ask a 3rd grader, they could tell you all about it?

Unless you mean Jesus, the illegitamate son of Mary, not pregnant by her husband, but raped by an angel, you mean that Jesus?

Hmm, so god rapes women to pro-create human beings, interesting, he musn't be able to get it up!

  • ;He assumes there is a god, but offers no proof, where is the proof of this god? Why doen't this god come forward today and let everyone see him/her/it and put an end to specualtion once and for all...hmm, do you suppose because there isn't one, hmm, and how would this guy make a living without the god-business-cash-machine? He might have to work for a living.

  • only people who don't understand the anthropic principle call it "luck"

  • This is the worst stand up comedian I've ever come across! Nobody was laughing at his jokes. He should find a better book than the Bible, because it just isn't funny.

  • Turek kicked Hitchens Butt SO bad, he still has a red face.

  • Godmongers like Turek are battling unarmed. They have not even a hint of factual support for their silly fantasies. And at some deep level, they know they're wrong.

  • He believes that an infinite, eternal, timeless creator existed without being created. He therefore believes it is possible for something to exist without being created, as by definition of his creator. Why then can he not believe it is possible for us to exist without being created?

Fear of divine wrath, punishment & damnation, for which I've seen no evidence for, has people abandoning reason & clinging to faith.

We are singular, infinite, eternal existence, cycling & evolving through form.

  • Utterly embarrassing to watch. This man is nothing more than a motivation speaker, peddling a product for profit without a shred of evidence or knowledge about his subject. Dawkins would spread this guy on his morning biscuit and eat him for breakfast. "Dawkins knows there's a god." Oh great. Turek is a mind reader, too. What an @ss.

  • @worldsworstjukebox You know what's funny, I've heard some atheists say, "I wish there was a God, but I just can't believe in it." I've never heard a Christian say, "ugh, I wish there wasn't a God because it disagrees with my moral conscience, but all the evidence points that way scientifically so I'll have to believe it anyway." lol

  • I wish there were alot of things that existed even though they don't. Unicorns would be cool, and FSM seems like a cool guy.

It's appealing, and atheists recognize that appeal. Doesn't mean it's good for you.

  • @Mathenaut Definitely, I understand. The point I was trying to make is that atheists appear/tend to be more honest than theists.

  • @SaturdaySoundOffsTV

There is alot less for us to lie about, that's for sure, hah.
