The uniforms are taken from the Greek War of Independence, the rebels didn't exactly have standard uniforms but this is the closest they come. I'm not exactly sure what the walk is from, however.
Dead serious i guess. That's the Uknown Soldiers monument in Athens. It's a symbol for all soldiers that died during WWII (English, French, American, Greek, Russian...) That's the honour guard for the monument and the unorthodox uniforms are the Greek traditional uniforms from 800bc and after. As for the silly walks, i think you should search for military walks. It's the same with Russian and it comes from mediaval Byzantium.
