@bplayer47 Yes I have a scanner, but they messed the dispatch up. A neighboring department was dispatched and they advised it wasn't theirs. So there was quite a delay for the proper jurisdiction to be dispatched
i am a little curious how you are at all these fires when nearly nobody is around. But i must say, the GFD is on their game. They really do a great job
@LaxWarrior129 It's actually quite easy to explain, I drive it like I stole it and GFD has closed several stations so coverage sucks. Between manpower cuts and equipment breaking down there response time has dropped, besides this fire was blocks away and there was a delay because this fire was actually toned out by a different dept before it was determined that this was Gary's
Here's a question... How the fuck are you at all these fire videotaping and standing around without the fd there or even on its way yet..? I think i smell an arson over here...
@Petermax99 A box alarm is a type of response to a fire, depending on the department it differs. In Gary with the short staffing a box response would be 3-4 engines, 2 trucks, a squad, 2 battalion chiefs, a safety officer when one is staffed and sometimes an ambulance. At times the arson investigator is also dispatched
lol they whine too much. The reason it looked like it was out more after the pause is because once they get the main part cooled off, the rest of the fire goes down rapidly. in the 30 seconds it took to move it was done with... Plus the building's structure was already doen with so there's not much left to burn
@eee4476 I see, I was just relocating to where they were attacking the fire. There was only a few second delay for me to get from one spot to another.
question, when u moved behind the fire trucks or when you move in general are u making like camera angles or is that the fire department telling you to move?
@biggdaddy2001 It's Gary, they put water on them no matter what, vacant or not it is getting put out. There are tons of vacant houses throughout Gary and they burn all the time.
@biggdaddy2001 Flying brands may cause a fire in a house someone actually lives in. And if the FD didn't put out fires in vacant houses, it would be an awfully easy way to dispose of any bodies you had laying around. A fire like that would do a good job of cremating someone and destroying evidence. I do wonder why they pulled two small handlines on this? Don't they have deck guns? Just hit it with the deck gun and dump your tank, next engine lays you a line. One line for clean up, done!
@firewacker432 I was first on scene, I ran out the door when the Chief advised of a working fire. Nobody called 911, the response time from dispatch was only 4-5 minutes for the 1st engine
at this point..why put it out??

All the growth and underbrush around this house, looks like an abandoned house. Gary, Indiana, maybe a drug house.

@xXKOSTRALXx The entire building is involved in flames
mabas21 6 months ago
@mabas21 Then why don`t they just say it was engulfed? I thought it meant it was arson, like someone was fully involved in the fire.
