cziffra is typical of superficial flashy token playing.

there is bolet, and then there is everyone else.

of course we are grateful for the wealth of recordings of superb performers.

but bolet is the king.

see and hear his performance of this piece on youtube...it is superhuman as technique and musicianship.

Rubinstein is better???....  Matter of opinion Mein Fuhrer. That was an outstanding and distinctive performance. Rubinstein seems to lack any emotional attachment to the piece. I think music should be emotional, not mathematical. Why don't you listen to Perahia play it for an example of an artist that is truly heart, body and soul, in love with the piece he is performing.
