The Zeitgeist philosophy is quite beautiful. However I am afraid for many of us it will not become a reality fast enough.
Alot of people are sinking fast, losing jobs and the overwelming need to survive is creating great stress-which seems to be the design of this whole economic implosion-to break people down entirely.
Up to here I find about Zeitgeist is that nobody owns anything, except the Govt. Without money, it expect less crime is a fault assumption. Many places there is so poor or so rich, power struggle invokes military activities. In the old day, Zeitgeist would be a great fairy story from King and Queen. Money is good tool. It is just that it's been controlled by wrong people. Rethink the concept of money to evolve it. Money are labels among resources and human efforts. Who owns those labels and why?
So if humans, time travelers, are the gods of yore, then why religion? The schools of religion are jockeying to be the foundations of the philosophies that will go on to be the ideology paradigms of those that become the time travelers that go back in time to reshape "history" and thus steer our evolution.

Then technology enables time travel. Because the individual is given entirely to philosophy and science, the individual gains the morality to righteously employ time travel. The individual goes back in time to intervene in previous cultures, to streamline the evolution of society, of the species, to ensure that we arrive at heightened humanity earlier. These time travelers are referred to as gods by the peoples they visit and educate. See where this leads?
Streamline the widgits, streamline the machines, streamline the social system, and then, and then, and then, you streamline the human. A lifetime freed of drudgery means a lifetime given to philosophy, astronomy, the arts -- in other words a life lived!
And this will create a feedback loop. One who gives their life to philosophy becomes a minimalist by default. The less one needs, the more there is for everyone else, the more the population can grow, the greater the potential of the all. Yes!
