I started out in a mack myself, they are tough and the best truck for green horns and companies that go through a lot of drivers cause they're slow geared and don't have enough power to break anything like axles.rear end, etc. I prefer a big cab western star w/ big cat engine made for fat boys like me. Cant squeeze in an old mack now. Like the chrome song but steer and peterbuilt drivers say to put chrome on a mack is like putting lipstick on a pig LOL!
eh ,, the DM 800 is my pick ,,, i liked them , they just look more rugged ,, the RD looks like a cowboy truck ,, never heard anything especially bad about them , i cut my teeth on the DM's
i agree u cant beat the old dm 800 and 600 hell even the r600 either but when they first started producing the rd everyone was afraid of them. but the only difference in the rd8 and a dm8 is the offset cab and in some cases some had either a cummins or mack engine thats really it and the dm came with maxidyne's if im not mistaken
Niccce! I drive a mack on a strip....thanks for sharing this!
