  • I love this.

  • Buena forma de cantar este mantra tan poderoso. Nosotros lo practicamos aspirando y alargando las vocales con cada sílaba, así logramos una profunda relajación. Bendiciones

  • OM!

  • muy emocionante cuando el mantra comienza a tomar musicalidad, es facil imaginar percusiones y musica al rededor aunque la finalidad sea crear un vacio mental.

  • OM MANI PADME HUM....

  • i was wondering what does this Om Mani Padme Hum mean? could somone please tell me

  • Google om mani padme hum. The first link that comes up has a good explanation.

  • @kessest I'm pretty sure it means; om to the Jewel in the Lotus(=

  • Whatever you say you believe in. It isn't the end of the world if you choose to get rid of a mantra like "om mani padme hum." The world is just more beautiful with this way.

Om and hum are sacred sounds, mani means jewel, and padme means lotus. The "jewel within the lotus" refers to universal compassion, "the wish fulfilling jewel", that everyone has. Chant as a proxy to help all living beings find happiness and in the process you will find happiness too.

    That's it.

    No need for strife.

  • good reaction! :))

well, after problems with my teethes is stopped doing the deep-meditation sort of things years ago and never did it again. but it was very nice.

  • ok, best wishes to you! :-) I don't quite understand what you mean, but I hope you are able to experience good meditation again soon.

  • @xtom1973 we believe that u're an ASHOLE ^^

  • I have a lovely mp3 for you to download if you like, with this chant as a song.

    rippleeffectoflife*co*uk/ommanipadmehum*mp3

  • May you all become enlightened!

  • May you all avoid but delusion and enlightenment. ;-)

  • Just say the words. Don't need drums and

    chorals.

  • I really like his chanting voice and with the wheel turning. Thanks millions for posting the video. May all souls free from pain and suffering and reach enlightenment.

  • Or simply,

"O Divine mother, our hearts are filled with darkness. Please make this darkness distant from us and promote illumination within us."

  • & The Meaning

"O thou existence Absolute, Creator of the three dimensions, we contemplate upon thy divine light. May He stimulate our intellect and bestow upon us true knowledge."

  • all the buddhist teachings are said to be in Om mani Padme hum

i prefer a musical version though, or a deep chanting version.

  • yes the musical version is good as the basic for beginners but then to break all attachments and bonds we will have to go without the music at some point.(Just my personnel opinion :-)

  • i am in nepal now, my life is changed when i started to know about these fantastic culture

  • ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ,

  • it is good to recite oma ni. It will bring you good health and good life

  • actaully om mane padme hum is the compassion prayer .( i know a monk!) he explained it to me!

  • There is a similar mantra in hinduism called "Gayatri".

As I see it,, these two mantras can give you the the truth.

  • OM NA MA SHI VA YA is that what you mean?

  • No I think ShantinHank means this;

    om bhūr bhuvah svah

    (a) tat savitur varenyam

    (b) bhargo devasya dhīmahi

    (c) dhiyo yo nam pracodayāt

    The Rig Veda (10:16:3)

  • As I understand OM MANI PADME HUNG means "the jewel is inside the loto" and the interpretation is something like "everything you need to know or discover is already inside of yourself" or what is the same "we all are inside sleeping budas waiting to be awake"

  • OM MANI PADME HUM - sanskrit

OM MANI PEME HUNG - tibetan

    That's it.

  • Thanks to everyone for helping me correct this so that the title isn't mixed between Sanskrit and Tibetan. My bad!

  • Namaste! hari om!

    ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ,

  • actually hum or hung depend on the different dialects and areas...

  • from what I've understood, the "hum" doesn't actually mean anything, it's just a filler sound around the "mani padme."

  • Buddhist mantras dont have any translation or meaning, its the vibration in our body that make the work. Yes the difference between HUM, HUNG depend of the dialect or language but the important is the vibration when you sing the mantra.

  • freaky

  • he pronounce correctly. just the spelling. Hone or Hum. no prob

  • It's HUM not HUNG!

  • It can be hung also. It depends on what language you use.

  • yeah i recently realized this! Sorry, I totally had no idea!!! :)

  • Buddhist mantras dont have any translation or meaning, its the vibration in our body that make the work. Yes the difference between HUM, HUNG depend of the dialect or language but the important is the vibration when you sing the mantra.

  • but you can translate it and it has a meaning. Dalai Lama has spoken on this subject.

  • Yes, some of them have a meaning more than a translation, But we should not try to find the meaning or translation of the mantras because this could detour the meaning of the practise and we could start making judgements about what the mantra says, specially when you are a new meditator.

  • Tibetans tend to pronounce "Om Mani Padme Hum" as "Om Mani Peme Hung".
