i don't believe that conscience makes guys like him switch sides. he'd have been fired over the nataline fiasco anyway, and too much bad publicity to be hired elsewhere, so he had no choice but to make a new career exposing his former cohorts' practices. psychopaths do not suddenly grow a conscience, they merely adapt to exploit their predicament to their advantage. nice job wendell. really.

For those who don't remember from the time; the 'death panels' business is an odd combination of two things; the fact that with limited resources a national health care service needs to ration care (which is no more true under the Obamacare model than under current US healthcare) and the fact that in the bill there was a provision of 'end of life counselling'; that is, psychiatric counselling for those diagnosed with terminal illnesses. The Republicans claimed this would be euthanasia.

@MyThingsRedux It's quite deliberate. The music industry calls these things 'hooks' but advertisers seems to have taken it one step further. The t-mobile jingle is a good example.

I wonder how long before some of companies and organisations start a whispering campaign (What we used to call Astroturfing before the web) that this show is faked.

If I was Jon Ronson I'd be even more careful than normal to check the validity of any stories he chooses to caver because if I was part of the insurance industry or even a republican I'd be setting up a fake case of Astroturfing so they can show him being wrong about something.
