omg too awesome. Can't wait to see them in Cambridge. I never got to see them before the split - I thought I'd never see them, or ever hear a new song. ever :'(

ich hab meine karte für das konzert in brüssel. endlich !!!! 17 Jahre hab ich drauf gewartet sie live zu sehen. und nun ist es endlich soweit.....das leben hat sich gelohnt
Oh my this is just amazing! Have just opened two windows playing this clip seperately and a couple of beats apart, and it still works - very clever track!
The world seemed different when Orbital went quiet. Now it looks great again!
From 91 to 2001 I went to every event they did in London & all the big Tribal Gatherings. Now living in the recession means I have to work the nights that theyre playing at Alberts place! At least I did see them there back in 96. FFFFFFantastic to simply stumble across this and find that they are back to creating stunning work. This will be my soundtrack to 2012. Dance everybody!!!!!!!!! : ) : ) : ) : ) : ) : ) : )
Aw, how it great it is to have you back making masterpieces Orbital! You always seem to change your style with the times, yet sound uniquely you! Can't wait for the Album! Peace:)
the tour should be great - but please drop the Bon Jovi/Belinda Carlisle section, cos it's shit and ruins a great show. (Kraftwerk wouldn't do it and neither should you)
No more Doctor Who theme either - it's crap lads, your own tunes are way better.
dude, the Halcyon/Bon Jovi/Belinda Carlisle thing is their Encore.... they've been doing that since like 1992... where have you been? Saw them at Club Rio in 1999, they played every track I wanted to hear, and then some... then they left... came back... opened their encore with that... and played for like another 45 minutes... was AWEsome
Was fortunate enough to see Orbital last February and they were without a doubt the best live act I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot. It included some very special moments with some of my most favourite music of the past 20 years. Amazing artists that have stood the test of time and I cannot wait for the next instalment.
i wish i liked this track also like so many of you guys....i like orbital very much....can't help it, but i does't do anything for me. they have great tracks but also a lot of mediocre tracks. and i think this is one of them. I feel they took the easy way out on this track. But what i do like and its simular to this is the new PLAID album. and a simular athmosphere is the track UNBANK. check it out and agree or disagree with me.
What's best about the "listening while reading" experience is realising how, in spite of geography, we all share this deep and devoted love for Orbital's Music. As the world becomes smaller and smaller i look forward to give u all a big hug when we finally meet.
Isnt it amazing that they still have it???? they will never fade, NEVER, ha!! They really know how to do it, god I love them. I will see them one day as well. I would do anything to get to c them live. I bet it is the most amazing experience ever. They are another duo that can reach a special place every time they make musik and it never gets old. They keep it fresh and relevent every time.
One of my favorite concert experiences was seeing Orbital at the Metro in Chicago in 2003. That was during their farewell tour. It was my first, and what I thought was going to be the last, opportunity to see them perform ever.
An amazing show. There was no opening act, just Orbital. I was dead center at the front for the entirety of the 3-4 hour set, and it was just phenomenal. I remember watching an RC robot wandering around underneath the keyboards while the brothers. Cannot wait for more.
Orbital and Tangerine Dream were the sound of my 20s and 30s. Now they contribute to the teens (10-19) like they did to the nineties. Orbital seemed to remain strong in the zeros, but this shows that the magic of the nineties for Orbital is in a resurgence for this decade. This piece's style seems one part "Middle of Nowhere" (1999), one part "Orbital Album" (1991), a touch of New Order sensibility, and with some of the "breadth" of synths from "The Altogether" (2001). Eager for new releases.
Proof that you don't need a small country's budget nor a bunch of scantily clad bimbos to make something visually beautiful. Kudos to the Hartnolls and the director. To the favorites.
Never reaching a destination. Always moving and wanting "needing" more. Nice video with excellent syncing. It made me dizzy when things because surreal :)
I so clearly remember being in my mid teens in the 90s, not really knowing what electronic music was, and having someone play "the girl with the sun in her head" for me for the first time. That moment is probably going to remain crystallized in my mind as if it happened this morning, for the remainder of my life. This is the first track that's been able to bring me back to that place of intensely analytical, yet purely synthetic aural bliss, in years.
What an incredible video. So simple and yet so moving. I thought the tunnel bit during the breakdown was lovely and the red light bit was fantastic. Hands down one of Orbital's best songs ever!
Fantastic tune - melodic and bangin' in all the right places! Quite like the pun in the video of using the M25 Orbital Motorway - that's the only time there's no bugger on it mind!!
I'm feeling so many awesome emotions right now, so glad Orbital released a great new song, fuck, my favourite musicians from the 90s, so many great memories of my teenage life, thank you thank you thank you!
@pauseTV Agreed on all counts! My teenage years were defined by Orbital -- Belfast, Chime, Halcyon+on+on. So much joy listening to a track that only the Hartnolls could create. Beautiful!
I always felt magic and something amazing around them... from the age of 8. Now I'm 22 but I always remember the feeling of their music in childhood... ;)
@aceofluxore I feel the same... I know that they aren't the best musicians of the history of the world but huh, there is something special... Maybe because we were little kids when we heard for the first time... idn :P
It'll be nice to see them on tour again but that track is just Orbital by numbers and quite forgettable; the video is even more uninspired, but then Orbital videos have never been that great.
@tonyttt31 :-D I'm sure you would 'like to hear the other tracks that use the same numbers', you'd then defend them to the hilt as well!
You do realise that it's ok for some people to not like certain tracks yet still be a fan? Clearly not a fawning super-fan like.. 'some', but a fan none the less.
Just got my tickets for the Royal Albert Hall.. and hope they don't play this! ;-)
Back in the day there wasn't that much competition in this style of music, now this track bores me. Orbital is past their sell by date. In comparison to new bands like Nero and Deadmau5 orbital is left in the dirt, this track has a real cheesy feel about it.
Thats not to say that I don't still listen to their early stuff like belfast, chime and halcyon etc. I DO, I still love the early stuff because of the memories they provoke and their authenticity.
@Obinome - One thing you have to realise about Orbital is that they NEVER paid any attention to musical trends and made the music they wanted to make, and not just what they thought the kids would buy. No competition you say? Then you've entirely missed the point, as it was never intended to be one. Listen to it for what it is, but don't compare it to the music of others - that's just foolish.
Oh and, welcome back lads. I cannot understate the influence your music has had on my life so far!
I liked well enough on first listen but it only really grabed me when I hit the loud button. The brief spin on the M25 at the beginning was a nice touch.
Sounds like the blue album to me. I want to like it i really do! Like most orbital stuff i'm sure it wil be a 'grower' . After being a fan for 15 years i will appreciate and welcome any new Orbital stuff and don't want to be critical at all. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album
Thanks Lumines: Electronic Symphony for this pure discovery... Great !

@Obinome Nero!? Deadmau5!!? Bloody hell. You've removed any credibility in your opinion right there.

@Obinome You rate Deadmau5? I really tried with him. Strobe is quite something but everything else was so charmless and dull.

1 person is still pissed off about the Bon Jovi bit in their live show. :')
