Wow, emulator or not, that was impressive. I remember playing this as a kid back in 1987 and getting my ass kicked by Tyson every time. The video games of today are crap compared to masterpieces like this.

I beg to differ. I'm a retrogamer myself, and punchout is one of the games I always come back to, but we can't always go with the "games of today are nothing like they were in my day" line that everyone throws around.

For one thing, they were too short. Super Mario 3 proves that, with effort, you could make a game long AND not dull (Zelda's another).

Besides, there are some EXCELLENT games like HalfLife and Smash Bros out there.

I never beat him, either. The truth is, up until my early 20's--around ten years ago--I couldn't even get past KIng Hippo. When I picked the game up after years, I realized there was a scheme/pattern to a each guy, and perfected it. Except Tyson. Not that I didn't want to, but because I was so damn intimidated. This is why Punch Out! will remain the greatest game ever.

even at my peak of playing this game I never knew a 1st round TKO was possible. I see that only hitting him only once after his punches @ 1:30 causes him to throw more punches I may have to give this a shot. Awesome vid :)

To take more damage in the first round seconds, the secret is: we must dodge his attack and hit him with the punch that is in the same side of the fist he has used (if he performs a right, we must give him two left jabs). There is also the delayed punch strategy that is explained at gamefaqs
