This is my personal favorite movie of 2010! Sly Stallone is real genius and the best action star ever. You can really feel the atmosphere of old good 80's and 90's. It was awesome to see Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Austin, Li, Crews, Couture, Roberts, Rourke, Daniels in one film. Statham and Charisma Carpenter made a very beautiful and hot screen couple. Now I hope Willis and Schwarzenegger will get more screen time in the future sequels. Also it would be great to see Sandra Bullock in it
The back story with Statham just seemed like an excuse to have him beat the crap out of a bunch of guys on a basketball court. Did you notice each seemed to have their own solo action scene? Jet Li with that Gunner dude... Ect...
I really liked this film, but i watched it as a tongue in cheek tribute to all the classic action movies and i didnt know much about it when i went in
thing is, the opinion on a movie heavily depends on what you expect from it. ive been waiting for Expendables way longer than a year and i sure knew what to expect from it. which was:
a) intense action
b) ridiculously stupid plot which is there only to justify all the killing.
i got what i expected AND more. i got jokes. stupid? yes. but they were a nice touch imo. if i want more sophisticated humor, i watch Guy Ritchie's movies. Expendables was short, intense and had no BS lovestory. i liked it
Personally, I loved The Expendables. It was a great throw back to the old school 80s action movies, and in my opinion a movie like that doesn't need a great plot. All it needs is a bunch of bad ass dudes killing people and blowing shit up. That's fine with me. Good job on the review though, dude.
