I was looking for hang gliding videos and found this one on hangliding. But is this pronounced han-gliding? or hang-liding? and is this related to hang gliding?
I'm not positive what a hang lider is but I can see that they fly, and i'm glad to find out they exist so I can see even more flying videos than I otherwise would have. Thanks!
From the amount of white caps in the sea the wind probably had plenty of strength, so it must have been very crossed considering that he dropped a fair bit. You wouldn't catch me launching in that. Seems like he pulled it off....just. Good for him :)
winds were light cross as you can see it was a sinking flight at the take off point . The wind tip was as the pilot exspected it to be"near the ridge" This pilot is no amateur by the way. his launch tactic was correct for the conditions and the winds. Check out Dennis Pagans writings and you,ll soon realize the pilot new what he was doing. Read some of his material on crosswind launches and landings up/down hills etc. Take care in the air
More from a knowledge of hangliding, than of language, passarosss is saying that; "The take-off was bad, very bad, nearly crashed. Always take-off with a headwind, NEVER with a crosswind, but he still takes-off, not taking enough care, not regarding what he can see, the mark of a novice. Study what I have said and listen..."
The pilot does nearly crash( look how close the right wingtip is to the bushes on take-off). A more committed run straight out, with the bar in, wings level, is better.
Yes, the guy's takeoff did look quite sketchy (and I was merely having fun with the Babelfish translation). Considering the dude couldn't stop hyperventilating as he prepared for takeoff, it seemed a tad unorthodox.
Roughly translated from Babelfish: Bad, badly, quase crachou, tem that to learn handle not direito side Front takes well-taken care of never FROM Side... bad, bad bad... but continue voando, but care takes mais, that observei, HANDLE of novice. Estude mais com pessoas mais understood ok... And bons voos.
I'm not sure if my angle of filming is bad, or the guy's takeoff and his helpers are bad. Thanks for the comment.
He very nearly stalls the right hand wing and stuff’s it in the hill side...

Thank you. Not quite as exhilarating as an onboard camera, but the feet leaving the ground gets me every time.
