I don't think the dog is attacking itself, I think someone has tied something to the dogs leg and is pulling it... i.e. fishing wire or some other type of string which isn't being picked up by the camera.

most dogs are like that, I think, when you give them a bone. Its probably just a primal/instinctive behaviour.

My family has a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, hes a perfect family dog, and great with children or strangers. But give him a bone, then try to take it off him and he WILL BITE (of course, if you do manage to take it off him, he'll turn on the puppy eyes and beg for it back lol).
