Seriously, the idea of the lyrics, "I've been a good little worker bee, I deserve a gold star." being cheesy shows you really aren't getting it. It's the idea of mindless work mixed with the childish accomplishment, getting a gold star like you are in kindergarten. It's the difficulty of doing all the stupid things that you are supposed to do. The lyrics really do have something to say if you want to listen to them.
