This was Ridgely Road London NW10 (not Wembley but North Kensington fire station) The depot was occupied illegally as permission had been refused. Leaking gas was ignited by a worker testing the ignition of a portable heater. The fire flashed to a stack of camping gas bottles in cardboard boxes stacked on plastic bread trays. That fire ignited LPG cylinders which were stacked incorrectly. 2 firefighters were injured. 50+ properties were damaged including a fire service range rover
possibly, it would have been very early, the bristol uniforms they are wearing were changed for the current issue in 1999, the uniforms previous to these were phased out in the late 80s
This was in the eighties, probably before they were as strict with these things as they are now, most cities in the world have very similar, apparently disasterous events waiting to happen
Not something that was planned, I suspect that as the fuel became more widely used in the 70s -80's, the "farn", just grew and grew and was not subject i imagine to retrospective planning
this reminds me of london,s burning when jaffa was burnet
