Competitive wise however, I think the bests are:

Emboar is a bit too slow and until they release one officially with its dream world ability, it's not going to be as powerful as the others. It is actually quite usable in Trick Room teams though.

Thysplosion isnt really good , all its famous for is eruption. Which heatran uses better. Infernape on the other hand has a great fighting type , better speed and way better atk and sp atk. There is no doubting that infernape has been the most successful starter out there. Thysplosion is nothing but a hm slave.

infernape and blaziken are basically the same thing, and emboar is a pig that fights which is far lamer then infernape and blaziken. Charizard has wings and the only pure fire type is typhlosion. Thus it should probably go 1. Typhlosion, 2. Charizard, 3. & 4. insert choice of infernape or blaziken, and emboar.

@lions4life2 Charizard could beat all of these by default due to being part flying type but Infernape, Blaziken, and Emboar do have access to rock type moves. Fire + Flying = REALLY bad weakness against rock type moves. Infernape is also faster than Charizard. Speed Boost Blaziken might wreck Charizard as well. In the end, whether who wins the battle for best fire type really boils down to the EVs, IVs, movesets, stratagies, and even other Pokemon in the team.

Heres how it goes:

1.Infernape good movepool original typing can take out both all Fire starters with Earthquake and Stone Edge,has the most speed

2.Blaziken 2nd fastest and a great physical attacker with Speed Boost and Swords Dance its really the shit

3.Typhlosion great with Sun teams and Eruption,Choice Scarf is great on it

4.Charizard is original has an odd typing and can learn a decent movepool also Ash's strongest pokemon

5.Emboar is terribad unless you know how to use it.

This is from experience not guessing either. Emboar really couldve been good if he had better distributed stats.

Emboar may have dismal speed and lackluster defense, but he served me very well throughout the game and it certainly took more than two hits to take him out (as an Emboar, the only person who could do that was Ghetsis' Hydreigon). Like i said, I agree in a way, but I think you're making it sound much worse than it actually is.

2. Swampert: It has poor speed,great defense, the best part? Least amount of weaknesses.

3. Feraligatr: It is great in special attack and also learns bite but also can learn ice punch and blizzard

4. Samurott: It is as powerfull as it looks don't mess with them.

5:Empoleon: Pretty good moves and stats but nothing too unique.

@tomjim2000 My list is not about personal preference its about facts. Infernape is one the best starters even if you don't like it. Torterra is awesome but its poor defensive typing and low speed is what makes it hard to use. Samurott has average stats and a rather shallow move pool, its offensive stats are good but again it is not too fast and with poor defences(bad but usable if trained properly) samurott is just not good if you compare it to other water starters.

@MrMp3ismelol The reason typhlosion is last is because its extremele small move pool, true it gets thunder punch but its not enough to KO a charizard (there are exeptions though). Also don't forget that blaziken has speed boost all it needs is to protect then attack, and infernape is naturaly faster. Typhlosion is good but it lacks the moves to make it great or usefull

2. Blaziken, I prefer the classics but his moves are great his biggest downside is he has 2 many weaknesses.

3. Typhlosion, they take a LOT of time to raise but have great stats and pay off in the end.

4. Emboar, a sad continuation of the fire-fighting starter but,it learns MANY diverse moves.

5: Infernape: Good but another sad fire-fighting starter and just not as good.

Thats not really fair, typhlosion had full hp, infrnape did not, so it was not fair, also both typhosion and infernape can use earthquake, so to make it fiar, same item, same level, both have earthquke and legit moves, same hp on both and then you try. U might get a epic battle where they are neck to neck vs eachother. Its possilbe to see some astonishing results if thats done.

Charizard is the best starter fire type out there, it was proven in a magazine matchup, plus the fire flying type wiould devastate the fire fighting type, Charizard also has the handy resistance to ground type moves. Plus I am sick of all the fire fighting types, no originality at all thats why when I play white platinum and emerald I choose Swampert, Torterra, Daikenki.
