i went through SFAS. ANYONE in the army can go. Regardless of what the video said, i saw some of the dumbest, out of shape soldiers there. you need to be an E-4 (enlisted rank any way) 110 on the asvab, and talk to a SF recruiter at your unit. They need to fill the classes. Imagine running selections with ten guys. The soldiers that quit end up helping out the cadre, setting up "evolutions". The log P.T. lasted 30 minutes to an hour. Rifle P.T. the same. this is selection not special forces.

@kangster007 your QT score is the most important score. 1-99 is your raw score, but when you apply for a job it comes down to your AFQT score, which can be 110. Special Forces Medics for example have to have a QT of 110 or higher. To go SF you have to have a 100 QT score (messed up on my earlier post). I had a 110 QT and when I asked for a job as a medic with Arabic language school they said "yes" but my score was low compared to others. Google QT score, and learn more.

@stukosh Clearly you didn't even follow your own advice. 99 is the max score for your AFQT. The only thing the AFQT determines is whether you can join a particular service, as it is the Armed Forces Qualification Test. The only scores on the ASVAB over 99 are your composite scores. QT isn't even an option. You're probably thinking about your GT score, which is the General Technical composite. Seriously just wikipedia it.

@TheEmarbe the Marines now have MARSOC, i'm not sure what they are called now, but i believe for a short time after they were created they were called "Raiders". i believe for Army SF only soldiers may apply and they don't need to be Rangers before hand, but when it comes to selection for Special Forces Operation Detachment Delta(Delta Force) any one from any of the branches of service may apply.
