Victa motor mower range - TV commercial (1974)

I believe Victa made all the engines on these mowers, correct? I believe at least one Victa of this particular vintage had a Briggs & Stratton engine on it.

@ClassicTVMan1981X - I think (and I may well be mistaken!) that Victa made the 2-stroke engines, and used Briggs & Stratton for the 4-strokes...

Ahh, yes, the Victas...w/ their famous "Victa Zip-Starters" and the "no-prime, no worries 'G-4' carburettor" (or at least that's how I recalled it back then). Fun!!

This is one of the rare commercials to use a song from a Disney cartoon movie - "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" from Disney's Song of the South (which has been released on DVD in many foreign countries but never yet in the USA and Canada).

We officially got colour on March 1, 1975, but many stations had been broadcasting in colour throughout '74.
