I believe Victa made all the engines on these mowers, correct? I believe at least one Victa of this particular vintage had a Briggs & Stratton engine on it.
Ahh, yes, the Victas...w/ their famous "Victa Zip-Starters" and the "no-prime, no worries 'G-4' carburettor" (or at least that's how I recalled it back then). Fun!!
This is one of the rare commercials to use a song from a Disney cartoon movie - "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" from Disney's Song of the South (which has been released on DVD in many foreign countries but never yet in the USA and Canada).

@ClassicTVMan1981X - I think (and I may well be mistaken!) that Victa made the 2-stroke engines, and used Briggs & Stratton for the 4-strokes...

Since this Aussie ad was from 1974: Was this the last year most TV was black and white before Aussie TV finally received color TV broadcasts?

We officially got colour on March 1, 1975, but many stations had been broadcasting in colour throughout '74.

It sounds like this is from 1974 and not 1972.

Yep - quite right! Thanks for the catch...
