The conventional chronology places Venom and Mercyful Fate as the earliest BM bands, with Bathory being the first band to play straight-up black metal. The first proper Black Metal album can't have been released earlier than the early 80s. while KISS formed in 1973, and by 1981 (when Venom released "Welcome to Hell," the first thing even approximating Black Metal ever), they had already released 9 studio albums and were one of the most famous bands of the era. So no, KISS predates Black Metal.
