  • nice and gritty but with just that working sinister feel to it...

  • very sweet. seeing and hearing this song on this video in live performance- which i first heard many years ago- is a revelation. i feel the raw edge, the imperfection this has over the "original" recording actually brings more out in the song- specifically, the performance of the instrumental arrangement. and nicely shot. especially like the side three-shot around 3:00

  • another excellent live rendition of this classic as i have always said to those who say new order are crap live ... they are at there best live because they mix things up, they feel the songs and most of all they have fun doing it live... best performance so far.

  • you really must not be familiar with new order....this is what they were infamous for. completley fucking about when playing live

  • @spunkets oh thanks for that wisdom, then everything would be nice and neat and orderly for you, is that right?!

  • @spunkets Actually to be fair to you, I also prefer it when he sings Blue Monday in the lower key

  • @chrisnoaro1

Of course its all aesthetically subjective, isn't it

  • @spunkets Yes, as much as many of us have passionate and strong views about what's good and what isn't, I also like to keep the 'subjective' idea as my guiding principle in music. Everyone has a different starting point in their exposure to music and a different set of experiences of sound and its relationship to their life and emotions, so there's no right or wrong in music. Most Joy Division fans laugh when I say I like Cascada but they're the ones that are missing out in my opinion. Cheers!

  • I think at 2:34 Bernard says "TURN THIS LIGHT OFF YOU CUNT."

    lol :D

  • scratch that it's at 3:34

  • it actually matches the music... even the timing! mint.

  • This is the only half decent 80s live version ive seen on youtube, the synths and especially the bass are great compared to all the attrocious live versions they did!

The vocal performance is better in the 1983 performance though.

  • "Blue" Monday, I finaly get it.

  • i was 12 when this shit came out!

  • I love 03.33 mins ...

  • super video d'excellente qualité avec un morceau hallucinant qui passe les annees sans prendre une ride.

  • the only single to hit uk no1 on 12" sales....awesome!!

  • Until World in Motion and I believe regret

  • Nice! Great Quality. Good performance.

  • Strange Ending

  • good ending
