Yeah. I am pretty sure. The name of the theme came out by looking Barone s faces…
Ok, just a joke…but seems to be the truth.
Anyway. I am a follower of candyrats records. But really, this is the only ocation that i feel like listening to something transcendent. They have achieved a unique and refined expresion. Amazing trio. Please, please, keep it up.
At 1:30 there is a slight moment were the 2 guys look at each other and smile. It shows why humans do what they do. It shows a bond between man that's rare in the world we live in. You know you truly love some one when you can have a whole conversational with something as quick as a smirk of the face.
Man, I thought I was all ahead of things being really into Kaki King, Preston Reed and Michael Manring. Then I went to CandyRat and I was like, oh crap, these guys are everywhere I need to seriously step up my game!
I don't know if I could listen to their CD for long, but to watch them? I could do that for 10 hours straight. It's such an intense audiovisual experience. Plus it's good to see how amazing they are at what they do.
....azz ma queste non sono + neanche chitarre........ sono IDEE che diventamo musica.........potrebbero suonare anche il fustino del dash e produrre capolavori...!!
Holding it upright like that HAS to help with the scratching and thumb percussion. You could do it tipped to the side, but if given a choice, I would rather play it like he does here simply because the percussion would be more comfortable.
good stuff, but frankly holding the guitar in that position(while not playing the cello part) was nothing but style and though I have not heard a cello on a guitar anywhere before I must give them the credit for doing so even though it wasn't amazing as such... in short a-ok type of composition.
@sohamganguly not really since Sergio plays most of the percussion...since his percussion involves scratching and slapping the bass strings...that's why he has his sunrise pickup on an angle,to capture the essence of the bass amplified by the dynamics of the body..think about it..whenever you play a guitar vertically you get a different sound to it because the sound HAS changed
@TheFunkyCriminal lol im not antichrist even though i dont care shit for christianality but i still except them in thi world, anyways im just not into this music, i like greenday and the lost prophets and stuff
@nathanthomas2429 I wouldn't be surprised if he was using regular gauge strings. The bridge and nut don't seem to be altered. However, I do see and extra bridge piece under some of the strings.
In fact it's only under ONE String. I tried that once – sounds just fine! Can't play a lot of (clear) notes on that string though, because the extra bridge piece fucks up the intonation and every note above the seventh fret or so sounds sharp and indistinguishable. You have to add a lot of resin to the bow and of course Altamura uses a lot of reverb on his guitar to get that sound.
Yeah, of course. But this way you can play only on the outer strings and you risk to mute the string by accidentaly pushing it too much against the fretboard (as the only way of playing this way is using the bow on the neck, as it would be impossible to avoid bowing the other strings otherwise. Although it could be an interesting idea to play in an open tuning using the other strings as drone strings)
PS: It's also quite cool to use a bow on a distorted electric guitar! – Jimmy Page did so quite famously on some Led Zeppelin songs (such as "Dazed And Confused") and the Icelandic alternative rock band "Sigur Rós" is somewhat famous for their use of bowed electric guitar, mainly on their earlier songs (such as "Svefn-g-englar") – Neither Page nor the singer/guitarist of Sigur Ròs Jón Þór Birgisson use an extra bridge piece, though.

@tofuronfukeefu The device he is using is called an e-bow, it emits electromagnetic waves to make the string vibrate like a bow on a cello or violin, they're roughly 70-100 dollars.
It's really an interesting performance, their personality while playing matches the sound that they produce, even their posture is a vision of each one's sound.

@twltch chk out "solfeggio" tuning a guy named huckabay. the tuning is natural tuning very interesting if yer into that kinda thing. actually id unno if these guys use that acvtual tuning but sounds close to it... same idea anyway
It's also copying Jimmy Page if you play the guitar. It's not really copying unless he uses it for the same style and this is really not Jimmy Page's kind of style.
@jimmypaged259 if you see all the videos of sergio altamura you'll see he's not a copycat, he as an amazing knowledge of music, he just trys to be different, non convencional. And he experiments a lot with his guitar and with all the effect pedals and that electronic stuff. he's a true musician!
