imiev .. if you speak out this in German like imeef then it means "i stink" .. i suggest changing the name for the German market .. at the end the only thing count is that this car rocks ... solarpanel on the roof of the house to power the car .. perfetto
Also, even if these power stations *are* made, and each one has it's own mini power plant, then what's to say how much should be charged for electricity? Since they're making their own, and the price isn't dependent on availability, couldn't they charge anything they wanted?
And even if they *didn't*, EVs take a while to recharge. You couldn't just stand around for hours waiting.
There's a lot of obstacles - or maybe not. Dunno.
Awesome! So by 2010 we'll have the Chevy Volt and this iMiev on the road! Woo-hoo for the comeback of electric cars. I actually just got finished watching "Who Killed the Electric Car, ironically. Haha. I really hope this catches one.
One question, though: with millions of people plugging in their power hungry electric cars all across the world, won't that put a massive strain on power infrastructures? And won't electric bill be outrageously high? Unless dedicated charging stations are made...
Seriously you could drive a house down the road at 130km/hour if U wanted to put enough polution driven horsepower behind it but those days are gone and if we cant change the way we think & look at things we will die out chocked in our own smog of backward thinking. I love the feel and the sound of a 6L V8 as it roars up the road but I like breathing a hell of a lot more.
Why does everyone always have to harp on about looks? Comments & thinking like that is what led us to the environmental mess we are currently facing. Its design obviously maximises efficiency by minimising wind drag and if charging it up costs $2.00 / 100km & a cleaner quieter future, then who cares about looks? We need to change all our thinking in order to effect change at all.
Reminds me too much of a futuristic VW Beetle... I love all the innovations future cars have, but geeze, they are too rounded and goofy looking in the design department! D:
Looks awesome, I love how they merge the windshield with the car hood (if they have one, that is...). It shows that Mitsubishi is willing to explore changes. If it ever comes to Canada, I would definitely save up for the Sport Air.
Probably blame the price of the lithium battery. Insight uses NiMH, plus the iMIEV is ALL electric. For a city runabout, easy to park, cheap to run and maintain, it'll find buyers, probably business women not hung up on compensating for a small dick by having a big car. All the iMIEVs here, and SMART cars, have had women drivers.
Where is the front of the car?

what do they mean by Left Hand Drive?
alyssssalyn 2 years ago
they mean you can only drive it if you are left handed
garethsayers 2 years ago
i kinda understand that... but cars are prettymuch "who cares what hand you write with" kinda cars.. so whats the DIFFFFFFERENCE
alyssssalyn 2 years ago
I was joking actually.... it means the steering wheel is on the left hand side of the car ,like in the US, in Japan and UK its on the right :)
