  • I was on Accutane for 2 years starting in 2003 and I really hope none of this stuff happens to me. So far I only have problems with depression and anxiety.

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome are NOT the same thing. IBD is much more serious & may require using anti-inflammatory drugs or in some cases surgery is needed. IBD can be diagnosed by examining physical damage of intestinal tissue. IBS is a functional disorder where the gut looks healthy but does not function properly. Neither IBS or IBD.

  • I took three seperate 6-month doses of accutane from 2004-2006. Starting in 2007-2008 I began to have abdominal pain regularly. I've been in pain for the past two years, and finally decided to get tested. After an upper endoscopy, an abdominal CT scan, and a colonoscopy my GI doctor is awaiting biopsy results to confirm Crohn's disease which is a type of IBD. In addition, my father passed away at the age of 61 two years ago of colon cancer, so this IBD further increases my risk of colon cancer.

  • On June 29, 2009, Hoffman-La Roche, the manufacturer of the popular acne drug, Accutane, announced a nationwide Accutane recall. When it announced the Accutane recall, the company cited generic competition and the growing costs of defending against Accutane lawsuits.

  • At the time of the Accutane recall, Roche had awarded over $33 million in lawsuits alleging that Accutane caused inflammatory bowel disease. Since the June 2009 Accutane recall, the number of Accutane lawsuits has continued to rise. Currently, the company is facing over 1,000 Accutane lawsuits linking the recalled Accutane to several severe side effects including inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease, depression, suicide, and birth defects.

  • To date, six jury verdicts have required Roche to pay almost $56 million in damages to victims harmed by the recalled Accutane drug.

  • what recall.......im taking it now.
