  • Hey all - this was one of the first "On Location" videos we ever did, where we were still getting our setup together. As you can see, it was from more than three years ago! The amp was hidden under a table behind a curtain, and we weren't equipped with separate vocal and amp mics at that time. Boy, have we come a long way! We apologize that the quality isn't to par with what you've come to expect from our current videos.

  • terrible demo

  • Shitty compressed unmic'd sound. Muffled to shit too. What the fuck? He could play a strat or an EMG loaded Jackson and It'd sound exactly the same with this audio quality.

  • Does she think the guitar sound comes out of his mouth?

  • Those pickups sound exactly the same

  • Poor demo, you cant hear any subtle difference. Mike this better

  • It's impossible to compare a pickup in the bridge to a pickup in the neck.

Come on Gibson I thought you'd know this

  • why dont you play through a Marshall tube stack? its a no brainer..

  • i got that guitar strap but hes got a red one ik got blue! XD

  • hes using an epiphone double neck......

  • Yah no I cant

  • he wasn't even playing back in black right

    pathetic

  • @JDog1024 he cant ... its on an official advertising and interview page ... if he plays it correct he would get sued by columbia records

  • Man the guy is all over the place

  • can't tell the difference because you can't hear the damn guitar!!!

  • yeah that's no shit if your gonna demo a guitar, turn the fucker up and let us hear it!

  • He's terrible at explaining anything.

  • POS

  • i dont think Rebecca believed him

  • sounds like everything on the amp is at 1

  • Si encore c'était une Gibson. Mais c'est qu'une Epiphone. Elles sont bien mais l'électronique de ces guitares n'est vraiment pas génial. De plus jouer deux seconde sur chaque micro, sa suffit pas. .

  • pretty unique double next guitar..??

  • shitty demo needs to be alot louder and actually play something for more then 1/2 sec lol

  • She's very pretty - but it's a shit demo. Can't hear any difference as the sound recording is poor.

  • inutilidad total

  • lol he played back in black wrong... bad video

  • Its epiphone !!!!

  • with gibson pickups installed

  • She has some hotness going on...nice...

I think I am going to get a P94 in my neck of my Dean, but not because of this video....you can't really hear what it can do here...

  • well that was 3 minutes of my life that i can't have back.

  • She's pretty.

This video is absolutely worthless, otherwise. They mic'd it up all wrong.

  • what a waste of time. How about mic'ing the friggin amp instead of his mouth? The amp sounds like its in the next room. How could anyone possibly compare?

  • I have a, AY. and a BBpro in my flying V and they are f@#king awesome but i agree they sound like shit on all off these videos not a very good guide if your looking to get one

  • I don't think this guy is wearing enough rings on his right hand.

  • is it just me or did angus' pickup sound shit?didn't sound much diffeent to the p94's to me.

  • Check out some other videos on the AY. It sounds good. They all sounded bad on this video to me.

  • Hahaha the guitar's LOUDER than the amp.

    Rofl what a retard.

  • that was just nonsense

  • terrible sound quality.. cant tell jack !!

  • But at least he does confirm the rumor that the 490R is the same pickup as the 57 Classic, which is hilarious considering all the people who replace 490's with 57's and claim they sound worlds better.

  • Man, he sounds JUST like Pete Townshend!

    (NOT.)

  • He's testing these pickups on a epiphone. Wat an idiot

  • make no difference

  • Lame. Can't tell a bit of difference on any of those pickups. Bad demonstration.

  • looks like shit...

  • why are both necks 6 string? shouldnt one be 6 and the other 12?

  • hahahaah

  • he has them both as 6 stings so that he can demonstrate each pickup

  • do you think these would mount to a hss strat properly?

  • in the brige position yeah but not the neck or middle

  • that girl was like what the hell is he talking about. whos Angus Young? whats a 490R? haha. this girl is so lost and confused

  • this is rebecca dirks i have no idea what the fuck that guy was talking about

you have to put it thru an amp and really play it to hear the difference

  • how about he plays with some overdrive or something?

  • Can anyone tell me where this event takes place?

  • Premier Guitar is one of the more thorough abd intelligently written gearhead guitar magazines, but these "on the scene" trade show demos are a joke.

    This one was particularly useless.

She may as well have stood outside the building and told us to take her word for it.

  • the p94 has a more tele-ish brighter sound..the classic 57 ang 490r are warmer, fatter, creamier but a bit muffled..

  • you cant tell the difference because A-its all just alot of shit and he is talkin out of his arse, B-he hasnt got the amp turned up enough to be able to hear any significant difference

  • to my ears , ,,,these p-ups in this demo sound nearly identical..

  • @jbrianfehr angus young pick ups have more of a crunch to it

  • @jbrianfehr i know waht you mean, you just gotta be there and play to feel and hear the difference

  • Think she should have pointed that mic at the amp. Can hardly tell any difference in sounds- don't waste 2.59 of your life on this clip...

  • too crazy pickups should be only like 30 dollars a set -_-

  • Pickups are probably one of the main costs in an Epiphone guitar, say a set is $400, thats around %30-%50 of an Epiphone guitars costs. *Note in my country pickups can be 200-400 dollars.

  • i know what an epiphone costs, and its only 300. wait what country are you talking about????

  • New Zealand. My G400 is 800 brand new.

  • oh but thats NZ currency, not dollars, right?

my g400 was about 350 US dollars.

  • Well yeah I bought mine for NZD$699 but the prices of guitars went up. That conversion rate is about right?

I was saing if a set of pickups was around 200-NZD$400 (depending of quality) that means it is the main cost of an Epiphone which are maybe 400-$1500 for me. That probably means that they should be worth more a wireless cable at least.

  • ouch. Your prices are wayy overinflated.

  • No. It's the conversion rate. It's the same amount of money, but USD$1 is worth more than NZD$1.

  • oh. lol. when you put the dollar sign there, i thought it was US dollars. my bad.

  • Lolz. If it was like that I'd find a way to buy directly from Gibson!

  • epiphone -.-

  • epiphone ftw

  • NEED DISTORTRION so we can hear the difference!
