  • It´s not 15,000 ft, it less that 12,000 ft: if it were that high, an A330 would not get off the ground in 4,000 meters. Ask the people of El Alto airport in La Paz, Bolivia, which is at 13,900 ft.

  • I'm going there this summer! Nice scenery too!

  • i hate it when plane takes off and turns while taking off. when u look out it feels like ur going to drop off form sky nd crash.

  • I hope can arrive Lhasa.

  • LOL!!!

  • How does the airport terminal look like in the inside?

  • Planes fly higher to save fuel, not lower. That's why they do step climbs during cruise as they burn fuel and have less weight. The front row seats may be empty because of center of gravity limits mandated by the aircraft manufacturer. Loss of control may occur if center or gravity is out of limits.

  • Correct. The old weight and balance has to be in the correct envelope for TO. I felt that the flights were very safe. The crew was very professional. The girls were very attractive.

  • In Air China's 18 year history there has only been four accidents and only one of which caused fatalities.

  • may you should try to walk instead, as china only a small country.. sorry it is quite funny your comment.

  • Last summer i went to Lhasa...

    Shenzhen Airlines maybe better...

There isn't many airlines to choose, surely.

Because the airport is so difficult.

I think if you want to fly from Beijing to Lhasa, you might have to stop at Chengdu...

  • Right on... We flew from Beijing and stopped in Chengdu for one night then off to Tibet. Check out my vid. I did one like this. The weather was gorgeous that day. October of 2007.

  • Hey Man, I just did a vid almost identical to this one a week ago when I flew out of Lhasa. I'll post it in the near future. Very nice. The sky was a little clearer the day we left.

  • Elevation is a little under 12,000 feet in Lhasa. This surely is a nice video, friend.

  • hi there, can you tell me what was your opinion of Air China? Im planning to fly on their airbus 333 quite soon from Beijing to Lhasa

  • See my comment above. We stopped in Chengdu but we were part of Viking Tours..

  • Air China is fine the only thing I would advise is not to eat the food provided on the plane.

Flying from Beijing to Lhasa is not recommended as your body won't have time to get used to the high altitude.

You might feel very sick for a few days if you do either of the above.

  • OOO, the airport is 15,000 ft high so it takes little time to reach crusing altitude. TNX for d info :)

  • I may have been on this very flight. When did you depart?
