i am using movie edit pro 16 but for some reason when i try this, it keeps defaulting to center of the screen, no matter what i do as soon as i go to preview, it places the crop directly in the center again, i am pulling my hair out here. No matter what settings i try, it keeps jumping to center

Make sure you film on a day when the sun is constant; if the sun is forever darting behind the clouds, it will play havoc with the join!!

On an advanced level, there is something I've seen done several times, but haven't a clue how it's done. A clone passes an object to his counterpart on the opposite side of the screen. Or, they hold a conversation between each other. The latter must be done via incredibly accurate timing of dialogue ... or how?

Joe I subscribed just so ya know :) I have one question concerning what you have here. If I were doing a music video and wanted to use this effect how do I get the vocals and guitar playing right or in sync. Do I record the whole thing at one time and then lip sinc or mimic the sound while doing the second or third video shoot? I hope I am clear enough I am learning but may say something stupid lol..

b'coz it's auto center, u dont need to compute for what is the middle value of the resolution value... you can just go to size/position then drag the video to the right easily.....^_^

I was just wondering if you have ever tried the cloning effect against green screen. Not sure how it would look, but that could help you get a background with moving objects in it. Just an idea.

Try this. When you drag a clip to the time line he will ask you: 1. if you want to copying it to project folder 2. Alert you that your clip doesn't have equal proportion, with the option to automatically adjust you''re video. Tip: Do no not touch Frame rate/Resolution/Audio wile editing or you will get error message when re-open you're project.

Loved the video - thanks. Had one question. When you split the video, why didn't you separate the audio/video tracks, and how come when you drag to layer 3, the audio track 4, attached to layer 3 (which is OVER) video track 1, isn't merged or OVER audio track 2. What if I want to merge them? Like your closing "pump you up" snipit. Thanks!

To merge the audio tracks simply leave them in place like in the tutorial. They will both simply play at the same time.

reason I ask, is that this old computer struggles with v14 if I'm working with a lot of HD stuff, and I know.. I gotta get a new box, but.. if v15 isn't too much of a resource hog, maybe I'll get it first

Sorry for the delay Ron. V15 does take more resources to run. I run it on a 64 bit machine and it still lags when I am working with HD files. I also keep V12 on my laptop so that I can edit on the go.
