Ha ha! O'l Graham! I remember you dude, from way back in the day...oh, 'round 1988 when I called and you guys came out to play some shows in my hometown a couple thousand miles away! I can't believe you actually came out to H-town! Great great band, Confessor was.
Hi everyone, have a quick one for everybody! Is it possible that my vox NT has a little less volume than my Pathfinder 15r? I got my NT checked last week by service, change valves and everything seems to be ok...any clue?
I keep watching this clip, love it, but I believe the cab is the 1x12 and not the 1x12 OS. I only say this because I'm about to pull the trigger on a PC cab and if I'm correct then the 1x12 will do me just fine. Help a brother out... is it the 1x12 or 1x12 OS ?
@KingKramerTV Hey...glad you enjoyed the clip. The cab is definitely an OS. We special ordered a batch of them with the vintage Marshall style grille to sell with the Night Train heads. Fantastic cab! Great pairing!
I have the night train head with a 1x12 Celestion blue Vox TV cab and want to go to 2x12 Celestion Blues. Would you suggest getting an additional 1x12 TV Cab with a blue in it or a 2x12 cab? The reason that I thought about the 2 TV 1x12 cabs is to be able to break it down and put it in my car as well as use only 1x12 at smaller gigs. Is there any disadvantage sound wise to doing it with two 1x12 cabs?
@titrator Thanks for the recommendation. I like the idea of going with a greenback in the second cab. This will give me greater versatility and save me a few bucks to boot. The tele video here is probably one of the best sales tools for the Night Train I have seen. This guys tone is amazing. Everyone I know who has seen this loves the Night Train. I think it is probably the best bang for the buck on the market today. Thanks again.

@titrator I don't think you'll see any appreciable difference...maybe more focus with 2 1x12 cabs and a bit more swirl and openness with a 2x12, but if portability is vital then the dual 1x12 cab's should work just fine. Also consider mixing a different speaker with your Blue such as a Greenback or G12H30 for added low end and a bit more headroom. This would sound even better with this amp IMO and give you greater versatility in the ability to mic' one or the other for recording and/or live stuf
Graham, very nice riffing and lovely tone through the V30 cab. I just put up my (2nd) demo of this super little amp through the 1x12 (Greenback) cab for the AC4TVH, and being curious to hear it with the V30, was led here by one of the respondees to my last vid (I'm not a pro-player like you, but you can hear both my NT vids on my Voxman5 channel). I just wish I had a big area as you did to crank it and get those EL84's really glowing! Best, Rich

Got one of these about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier. Play through2 x 10 Celestions and just love the tone. Great little amp for live performance in pubs etc.
I've got this amp and when I watched this video I thought to myself "mine doesnt sound like that!" but its just because this guy is 10x the player I am!
Is anyone having a hard time with the background/noise-floor with these amps? I love mine to pieces but when I roll back guitar volume, I'm hearing some hum. At the shop I tried a different one and they all appear to do the same thing... not sure I'm overly bothered by it but... just wondered...
Actually, if you are thinking of using Celestion Blues with this amp it works best through a dual Blues 212 cabinet rather than a single Blue 112 cab.
The single Blue is very nice for the clean mode at lower volume settings, but doesn't work nearly as well in the Thick mode or on the clean mode with the Volume above half way.
The ultimate is either a dual Blues loaded open back 212 cab or the Port City 112 OS Wave with Vintage 30.
Ok well I thought about that a Ted Weber British Blue dog or waiting to see and hear what the Matching cabinet for the Night Train that will have Celestion Greenback in it would sound like

Just a question. I have the same camera.
How do you do to record the camera into the PC? USB cable?
What software did you use?

@titrator you can only use one cab with this as it only has 1 16 and 1 8 ohm out. :)

I assure you, if you like Vox tone, this thing is more than awesome.
Even if you dont like vox and you want an lower wettage amp( that is not he marshall hardwired) this is one of the best you could get for that price.

they ought to give this guy the amp! other people demo it and it sounds mediocre at best...in this fella's hands it's a monster!

I wonder if Vox is going to make a 50watt night train??? Nice playing.
gtrjoe68 2 years ago 2
@gtrjoe68 this amp is so good that i was wondering the same thing.
But I think that VOX will not make a single channel amp in the 50watt category.
Only the ultra traditional want that simple wiring at higher wattage.
