  • @yowfan111 well jessica simpson has a grand CD quality version, by the end of it it's really good, but she doesn't put much strength into her voice.

  • @yowfan111 Hello. I think that the version of Johnny Mathis is very good, more dramatic in a part, but also more clear, more beautiful. You may like it. Check here on youtube with the following ending... =hwWhLkyBKjE Bye.

  • briliiant and yes people associate with home alone as it wa part of the soundtrack and added to the fim at the time

  • @kenshiro I don't know anyone who thinks thig originated with the home alone movie.

  • That's magical!!!!!!!!!!

  • Angels from the heavens singing this with God Conducting this for jesus

    While people sing

    Songs of good cheer

    Christmas is here

    That's magical! *-*

  • probably because alot of songs were made famous by certain movies

  • amazing. perfect <3

  • if you don't like music in a minor key you won't like this or many other songs. it's the minor key that makes it have a serious tone. that is the entire point.

it's an acquired taste but a minor key can make a world of difference in defining a song as mindless one hit wonder or a classic.

  • this song scares me

  • @eljuarma wow thats lame

  • make a download for free pleaz at a place

  • didn't john williams simply revisit the vienna boys choir ?

  • :S ? ? ? double trauble :S

  • :S ? ? ?

  • lol home alone music at the end was not expected....

  • It's no wonder we have wars. People are just mean. When I've looked up a song many of the comments are insults, goading members into an ugly war of words. Please take your frustrations out someplace else-anger management, boxing, pillows? I just want to hear the song and maybe learn about it. Demeaning retorts aren't helpful. Why is it so easy to insult someone you don't know? Does anonymity make it easier/are you that desperate for attention? I won't respond to comments-seen/heard all I need.

  • @PBuugey trolls

  • ding fries are done, ding fries are done, ding fries are done.........

  • @SkittleGlitter22 hahaha lol! I got it! you got that from Family guy didn't you?

  • who sings the original version?!

  • does anyone knows the author of this song?

  • @dziadzia992 This was composed by Ukrainian Mykola Dmytrovych around about 1915, not anything to do with Christmas, he just liked the sound of bells! One of my favs!

  • Nice, except the music is from an old ukrainian christmas song. The melody is most popularly known as from home alone but that is not its origin.

  • the song actualy goes really well!

  • this is my favorite version of this song!

  • AMAZING SONG :D

  • /watch?v=H6bNunq9NxM&feature=related

  • ugh i wanna hear a non creepy version of the song >=/

  • @MegaMarioUltimate lol I think most of the versions are creepy, the less creepy I've found is in metal xD

  • I thought the last few notes at the end were kinda sweet when Dumbledore walked up. =)

  • I still love how most of the choir members are from Ravenclaw, probably something to do with Prof. Flitwick being the conductor but it still makes me happy inside. GO RAVENCLAW!!

  • @fallenidol13 well they do sing in latin so that could also be a reason why most of the choir are from Ravenclaw.

  • @AnimeRikku1 Anybody can SING in latin. Has nothing to do with how intelligent you are.

  • DING FRIES ARE DONE DING FRIES ARE DONE

  • @cenarules222 lol

  • its also from the santa clause if anyone remembers

  • @TheresaStarshine Thats right.

  • I think they mean that this cover of the well known christmas carol is from the Home Alone movie - you can tell by the last few notes added on the very end.

  • has anyone else heard the carol of the cats version of this.. its hilarious!!! meow meow meow...

  • i like this song,

but i cant help but feel that this song and christmas as a whole will fall into evil.

every christmas i have had feels less and less like a christmas but a struggle against some worldly evil.

lets hope it doesn't come full swing in my lifetime

  • this is from Home Alone movie not harry potter

  • we did this song in my band

  • please. write me what sing girls which sing in the highest tone ?

  • Comment removed

  • sopranos sing the highest note, usually.

  • the mouthing was kinda off but all and all the vid pulled out great :D

  • Aww.. they cut out the best part :(

  • thank youu so much for not singing it so fast that it nakes my head spin like really.

  • Why does everyone seem to think Carol of the Bells originated from Home Alone. Laughable notion

  • because its in home alone , duhhHhHHHH

  • yeah, especailly that the song is actually like 1,000 years old. It was originally Ukrainian well wishing song from pagan times that became a xmas carol. It was brought to US in 1900's

  • @12stel

Actually, the song is less than one-hundred years old. It was composed in about 1916 by Mykola Leontovich, a Ukrainian Orthodox priest, though the four-note motif used throughout the song was extirpated from a pagan New Year's chant called "Schendryck". Sometime in the thirties, when it was introduced to the U.S., and was given new lyrics that have nothing whatsoever to do with the original.

  • thanks, but I meant that the original chant is 1,000 years considering it was pagan and Ukraine obtained christianity in 988, i guess I should have been clearer

  • @12stel The original chant can't be 1,000 years old. 'Hubble bubble toil and trouble' - the world bubble didn't exist before Macbeth in 1602.

  • @lilyloonyluna I don't know, maybe you're right. but it was always said In Ukraine that the chant is still from pagan times and Ukraine has been Chriistian since year 988... ..

  • @Kenshiro15K Uh... Probably because this particular version ends with the Home Alone theme song.

  • @Kenshiro15K Just beacause.. Why not? ;)

  • @Kenshiro15K It's memorable for most people, so that's probably why. This version is from the Home Alone soundtrack.

  • @Kenshiro15K cause that movie made the song scary as shit.

  • @Kenshiro15K but this is the John Williams version from the Home Alone Soundtrack not the original Ukranian carol by Leontovich.

  • @DomSpens John Williams did not write this music, it's not his - he simply arranged it whereas Leontovich is the original composer and this music will always be his regardless who arranged it. I also cringe when the original composer is hardly ever credited. And btw, being familar with the original Ukrainian version, I can tell you there wasn't much arranging to be done by Mr. Willams. This version barely differes from original. In fact, to my untrained ears, there is no difference at all.

  • they sang it perfectly~

watch also the cover from august burns red for metalheads

  • awesome dude, a wonderful mix of a popular movie and probably the most popular song

  • August Burns Red cover is awesome xD

  • It works wonderfully like this.

  • ..the song is supposed to be fast

  • love that song im singing it in choir

  • i know every sindel word to it

  • Ilike that song...

  • Yay! Found it! :) I love this video. I had to favorite it!

  • P.S. Dumbledore kinda reminds me of Santa after listening to this Christmas music. :)

  • uhhhhh this has absouutly nothing to do with double trouble. WAKE UP, DUDE

  • HorseMan50

    do you mean "Double Trouble"?

  • I'm looking for a song from Harry Potter I think it is the music that is sound at the scene that is seen in the video. help?

  • Brilliant video,,this song is Christmas to me,,,, thank you.

  • Funny how songs in a minor key can make us happy! One of my favorite versions!

  • I think because its in minor it makes is sound more beautiful

  • Hm, perhaps, but it might also be because of memories attached to a song, regardless of the key it's in, that make us happy.

And even though this song is minor, the lyrics aren't sad or depressing, so the traditional lyrics combined with a minor melody has a hauntingly good result

    Eh, just my 2 cents

  • well of course all minor songs sound amazing ! : D

  • I don't think enough people realize that that is why this song sounds so awesome. It's fun being a music nerd! XD

  • I think this is sooooooooooo the best version. Love it. Merry Christmas every one. I know ...its only October!!!!

  • LOOOOOOOOOOL XDDDDDDDD

  • it's magic.

  • ironic

    harry potter = witchcraft , magic ,

christianity = well umm you know

  • @RadicalNoran That's why I only listen to Carol of the Old Ones. Irony kills, you know.

  • @RadicalNoran no different than Alicen wonderland so if you say herrypotter is witchcraft then you call that also it to sorry you wrong

  • @RadicalNoran -I know you prolly heard this a million times but Christmas is an adaption of the Pagan holiday "Yule"

  • @RadicalNoran

    harry potter = witchcraft

christmas = well, though the names means Christ's Mass, the idea of commemorating it was taken from different cultures, since winter was the season where less work was done and people were expecting a better season ahead, the spring...

besides, harry potter also celebrates christmas =D

  • @RadicalNoran - actually this song originated in Ukraine during pagan times - it was originally a pagan well wishing chant.

  • @RadicalNoran Sigh, atheists will never learn...

  • @RadicalNoran Not an opinion you should share online as some may find it offensive, like myself.

  • @RadicalNoran They celebrate Christmas in every Harry Potter book and film. J.K. Rowling is also a Christian.

  • this is amazing.

    (:

  • Ukrainian Bell Carol originally "Shchedryk"

    awesome new years carol :)

  • Sure it is ukrainian. My ukrainian piano teacher told me.

  • Nice song ! what is that classic ?

  • bravo! great job and your idea was amazing ! :)

  • nicely done!

  • Great job!

  • haha, harry potter, nicely done though,...love this song..

    originally:

    "shchedryk shchedryk, shchedrivochka,

    pryletila lastivochka.........."

i must say that lyrics in english is better than the original lyrics in ukrainian. it became more "about christmas" after being adapted by Wilhousky

  • harry potter ! i love this song

  • Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells

All seem to say, throw cares away.

Christmas is here, bringing good cheer

To young and old, meek and the bold

Ding, dong, ding, dong, that is their song,

    With joyful ring, all caroling

One seems to hear words of good cheer

    From everywhere, filling the air

O, how they pound, raising the sound

Oer hill and dale, telling their tale

  • Gaily they ring, while people sing

Songs of good cheer, christmas is here!

    Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!

    Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!

  • On, on they send, on without end Their joyful tone to every home Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells All seem to say, throw cares away. Christmas is here, bringing good cheer To young and old, meek and the bold Ding, dong, ding, dong, that is their song With joyful ring, all caroling. One seems to hear words of good cheer From everywhere, filling the air O, how they pound, raising the sound Oer hill and dale, telling their tale
  • Gaily they ring, while people sing

Songs of good cheer, christmas is here!

    Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!

    Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!

On, on they send, on without end

Their joyful tone to every home.
