Gebrselassie is probably the best runner of all time. The lightness of his running style and the big smile on his face is really inspirational. When I go running and start to feel tired and my legs feel heavy I sometimes picture myself running like Gebrselassie and it normally makes me feel a lot lighter and energized :)

Sethqat, I don't really know what grievance you have against Haile Gebreselassie or distance running, but I can tell you two things: one, the people who participate in this is not "a small bunch." There were over 40000 people lined up in that opening Berlin Marathon shot... and thousands more in other marathons as well as in smaller/ larger distance races. Two, unless we can argue of Haile's successor Kenenisa, he is without a doubt the greatest long distance runner. His credentials show that.
