Mary Portas sifts rubbish at charity shop

It is true that alot of donations are not saleable but what alot of people dont realise is that most charity shops have a rag merchant who will buy all the dirty, torn and unusable clothing, books and brica brac.

The shop I manage gets at least £100 a week in rags alone, its a great way to recycle. I just wish people would say here is a bag of rags for you rather then let you sort through it. Saying that though Im quite lucky because we do get fantastic donations too.
